Evil? Excuse me, but I think you are woefully misguided here.

There’s this perception that oil companies are going to come in and start terraforming, but really this is just reversing Clinton and Obama era decisions that mainly just restricted local ranchers and hunters. If it was economically viable to drill it would have happened years ago.

Right now, I'd say that Japan, South Korea, and Israel parallel our foreign policy track the closest. In terms of trade I'd submit Germany and Canada, but Japan and South Korea are right there too. In both instances France and the UK are considerably down the list.

Was thinking that last night listening to Roman Mars program on auto safety. Before LBJ created the highway safety , not a department but agency I think it is called.
That mandates things like collapsable steering wheels, air bags etc etc. There was a staggering number of auto deaths every year. That has gone down every year since.
