It's OVER 5,000!
I wouldn't assume too much yet based on rumors as AA plays things close to his vest. We may have asked about both Headley and Ozuna but just didn't get anything done due to other considerations. Time will tell.
Wow, that's pretty underwhelming. The Cards got $50M-$70M in surplus value for about $40M in prospect value.
An equivalent package from the Braves would have been something along the lines of Newcomb, Pache and a couple warm bodies at the back end of the Braves Top 30 list.
I wouldn’t do pache for ozuna. Two years of control does not fit our window. I’d do Newcombe and some other guys of course.
Plus we’ve seen meter is a little crazy. They might have fallen in love with some cardinals guys from the Stanton discussion
So...why weren't the Braves involved? They didn't need a 4 win guy in LF I guess?
What the hell is AA doing?
DOB: #Braves GM Anthopoulos said not much activity today, no advancement on potential trade or signing, but did learn a player in whom they're interested is available via trade, which they weren't sure would be case (not Yelich; not a player who's been mentioned publicly, AA said)
Intriguing.
When I saw this, assumed it was in reference to Solarte or Headley. With Machado hitting the market as well, we could be setup nicely to wait for the market to play out. I'm definitely happy to wait out this RP market too.
Headley would cost us more now than he did when the Padres got him.
So his trade value went up simply by changing uniforms?
If the Braves didn’t want to pay for him then, why would they pay more for him now?

I believe Headley is about to be traded to the Angels. MLB trade rumors says it's close.

The Angels are going nuts. Maitan, Ohtani, Kinsler, and a few others all in the past week
Shaping up to be a *elluva week in Anaheim.
Of course Moustakas is running out of landing spots - and getting cheaper - if Boston doesn't jump in.
According to reports, prospects going to Miami from St. Louis include Nos. 6, 9 and 13 in the MLB.com Top 30, with one unranked.
FYI, the MLB.com Braves equivalents are Gohara (6th), Riley (9th) and Toussaint (13th). All Top 30 lists are not created equal.
More realistic haul for Yelich and Prado would be Toussaint (13th), Pache (10th) and CUmberland (24th) along with Folty and Camargo.
