It's doubtful that there's going to be a full release of the information, if it's judged to compromise sources and methods...which is one reason this is such a grubby little trick.
From what I read the house GOP wanted the dems to remove factual inaccuracies from their memo. Afterwards it will be voted on to be released.

A different view of this would be that DoJ is begging for the opportunity to decide whether to release a memo that may reflect very poorly on DoJ.
Enough of the nasty underbelly of DC has been exposed that I don't think either view being accurate would surprise me.

One is more likely than the other. In judging the integrity of the parties involved, it strikes me that there is a significant difference between Trump and the Trumpophiles on the one hand and the folks at DoJ and FBI on the other. I'm not saying the latter are perfect. But there is no moral equivalence in my book.

I suppose I'm in the camp that believes the memo may well be both accurate and damaging to DoJ, that there may be very good reasons it shouldn't be released, and that Trump may be willing to put his political gain above the greater good. I'm not sure why anyone places any trust in the DoJ or FBI at this point.

Someone claiming something to be a false narrative is injecting subjectivity into the equation. Why is that narrative misleading?
There is no such grey area with facts.
