Immigration is going to change. Its changing around the world. This is not an isolated 'racist american right wing' movement.
And Americans haven't even benefited from the amended witholding tables yet.

If it weren’t for the Hastert Rule we would have a bipartisan budget agreement,
disaster relief, and Dream. If it weren’t for the Hastert Rule our legislative branch could function.
Also, I don’t know why they haven’t renamed it but it’s probs too late.

Just think the means by which (R) handles legislation is named after a man released from prison this past July for molesting boys.

Democrats may want to think about taking a significant concession on the path to citizenship for DACA recipients and getting that issue off the table as soon as possible.
To some extent, at significant events like this, Trump succeeds by not failing. His well-earned reputation as a rhetorical loose cannon sets expectations lower than usual, but that belies his preparation for major traditional speeches. It happened in Davos last week and again last night. Congress may not want to admit it, but Trump outplayed them, just as he managed to do with the shutdown a little over a week earlier.
