Do you want to be the one to compare them to this guy, leading the charge on the recent protest? Because I wouldn't mention them in the same breath.

I am hearing rumor/speculation that the school district and the police had a deal to juke the stats on student arrests to get more federal money. They had to show a big drop in student arrests and then keep lowering it year after year. So they had to let kids go sometimes even the ones that committed serious felonies. Cruz might have got off on a previous arrest for this reason.
The NRA is being used as a scapegoat for the gross incompetence of the police/FBI. All of these officers should lose their jobs and should be sued in court. They are being paid to protect the community and they failed in their duty. If it was one small tip and there were no other signs I could understand not pursuing this further. But the huge red flags all over the place leaves one to wonder why exactly would they be ignored.

Its always about priorities. The federal government doesnt hand out grants for your local school not getting shot up. They do however give a lot of generous grants to go after pot smokers. Dont get to seize a school shooters car and sell it to pay for more overtime pay. Getting all rape kits tested literally requires an act of law to bind some of these police departments to actually prioritize rape. Its all about the Mon-ay.

Suppose Cruz hadn't access to an AR-15 ?

Did he have access to a car? Yes 57, if he used a lesser gun than an AR-15 less people probably would have died. I am not about to restrict the rights of all Americans so 11 people die in this shooting instead of 17. Grand scheme of things its a drop in the bucket and there are far more meaningful steps we should take to reduce gun violence.
