The Trump Presidency

He said he didn't think he would have time for golf.

He didn't say he would never play golf.

But, again, the criticisms of Obama didn't have as much to do with the amount of golf he played as they did when and where he played.

That's why I posted links. Because context.

Golfing is an easier activity for a President to get some fresh air to ease his mind. Easy for secret service to control who comes on a golf course and who drives through the gate than going to a ballgame.

I don't care Trump golfs but I have an issue with his hypocrisy about Obama golfing when he's golfing at a far higher rate. Add in the fact he charges the secret service for them to use golf carts and is promoting his business using the Presidential seal and I just find it laughable and sad.

i know what he said

i linked him saying it and have watched it and remember for years him and fox news and the likes of thethe etc complaining about a president golfing

and now all of a sudden, spending 25% of the year on a course is a ok to said same folks

that is all the context you need

the rest is just distraction or spin

Except he's not spending 25% of the year on a golf course.

And it wasn't just complaints about Obama's golfing in and of itself. Again, the links.

It was him going to Martha's Vineyard to golf after James Foley was beheaded.

It was him going to Martha's Vineyard to golf when Louisiana was under water.

etc.

etc.

Sure, frequency was part of it, but that's not what drove the point home.

Feels like a lot has been done in a little over a year. Maybe it's just the constant media hysteria. What did Obama do his first year?

Vermin Supreme steps in to save a Trump supporter from protestors. What a world we live in where a guy who wears a boot on his head is the voice of reason.

So news stories are speculating that Stormy Daniels has texts and photos proving an affair with Trump. I swear every day is a circus with this administration.

It is important to have proof for something so salacious.

I guess denying the obvious is not always a good strategy.

didn't realize optics mattered so much to you

Let's see, what else is happening?

Michael Cohen, Trump's lawyer, in deep trouble it seems.

KellyAnne same.

Gary Cohn resigning over tariffs.

hasn't everyone already decided this was true. Stormy is a hero of the left, after all

Not that it matters in the long run, but are you of the opinion that a six-figure payoff through a cutout to buy an NDA doesn't indicate some hanky-panky?

I don't think l'affaire Stormy is significant except as an object lesson. I cannot judge and frankly don't care about the minute details of the story. But I do think the payoff gives every appearance of a de facto acknowledgment of the basics. No?

I do.

Which is why I don't think this new info means anything.

But this is a woman who had an affair with a married man, took a large payout to keep her mouth shut, then didn't keep her mouth shut.

Just weird how much the left believes anything this woman says

I don't really care whether it is true or not though the six figure payout makes me think there's a better than likely chance it happened.

I know you will laugh about this but I was a member of the GOP until late 2016. I voted libertarian the last two presidential candidates and voted for Ron Paul in 2008's primary. I voted primarily Republican in other races. However the embracing of Trump is why I left the GOP. I could never support a candidate who admitted to doing such things to women (I have a close relative who was a victim of sexual assault). I also believed him to be a con artist and everything he's done since then has only reaffirmed that belief. I wanted to be able to vote in my state's primary so that's why I switched to the Democrats. My actual political leanings are much more center right than anything. It's just the GOP is no longer a party I could support because they sold their soul to win an election. I am just waiting for the tipping point where finally the party of "traditional family values" (yuck) has enough (though I doubt this will be it). I mean he's already admitted to sexually assaulting women so I suppose him having an affair while his wife is pregnant is lesser on the list of his horrible deeds.

The GOP tried literally every trick in the book (the 'pledge', bringing Mitt Romney back from the grave, pretending Kasich was a legitimate contender, etc.) to prevent DJT from being nominated.

I think everyone deserves one mistake and it's not like by all accounts this was a regular occurrence with him.

Hush agreement & side letter attached to Stormy Daniels' filing essentially shows

coordination between @realDonaldTrump, Cohen & Daniels. That means the $130k payment

from Cohen to Daniels to silence her during the campaign violated federal election law.

Penalty is 5 year felony.
