Russia Collusion Scandal (aka A Leftist fantasy)

interesting book review:

my favorite part:

Later in the campaign, the book reports that two top Trump officials — Steve Bannon and Reince Preibus — discussed a video of the Las Vegas event and wondered how Butina gained such quick access to Trump’s ear.

“How was it that this Russian woman happened to be in Las Vegas for that event? And how was it that Trump happened to call on her?” Isikoff and Corn write. “And Trump’s response? It was odd, Bannon thought, that Trump had a fully developed answer. Priebus agreed there was something strange about Butina. Whenever there were events held by conservative groups, she was always around.”

I see Russian people

McCabe out based on findings of IG report. I think you all are starting to see what has happened. You won't admit it but it's as clear as day.

Loved McCabes response. Left no stone unturned.

Trump playing these petty games that's so obvious.

The firing reveals that the DOJ should stand for Department Obstructing Justice. Is that what you mean by what has happened?

Firing a career agent a day before his retirement is about as low as you can go.

This was the recommendation by the fbis office of professional responsibility based on the findings of the report. Instead of pinning this on trump how about you take a second to realize that McCabe probably did some very illegal stuff and deserved this.

I think it is possible that the IG's report justifies firing McCabe. I would like to see it released.

I wonder about Sessions firing him. It seems to me that Sessions should have recused himself on this matter. During his confirmation hearing there was this exchange between him and Senator Grassley:

Grassley: During the course of the presidential campaign, you made a number of statements about the investigation of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, relating to her handling of sensitive emails and regarding certain actions of the Clinton Foundation. You weren’t alone in that criticism. I was certainly critical in the same way as were millions of Americans on those matters, but now, you’ve been nominated to serve as attorney general. In light of those comments that you made, some have expressed concerns about whether you can approach the Clinton matter impartially in both fact and appearance. How do you plan to address those concerns?

Sessions: Mr. Chairman, it was a highly contentious campaign. I, like a lot of people, made comments about the issues in that campaign. With regard to Secretary Clinton and some of the comments I made, I do believe that that could place my objectivity in question. I’ve given that thought.

I believe the proper thing for me to do, would be to recuse myself from any questions involving those kind of investigations that involve Secretary Clinton and that were raised during the campaign or to be otherwise connected to it.

Stands to reason Jefferson Beauregard had the squeeze put on him.

As thethe wets his pants, it's important to remember the Clinton disclosures hurt her campaign. I'm interested to see this IG report.

Oh it hurt her? She should have been disqualified from running. The lack of acceptance of this fact is startling.

What would sessions recuse himself from?

Any involvement in the decision on what to do in the McCabe case.

It was recommended by the IG report to fire him. Not sure how much involvement sessions had afterwards. Would you consider involvement going with the recommendation of a different department?

Attorney General Jeff Sessions fired former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe late Friday, alleging he made an unauthorized disclosure to the media and “lacked candor” in speaking to an internal watchdog.

The above is the lead sentence in the WSJ article about the McCabe case.

It seems to me Sessions is not impartial in this matter and should have recused himself. His exchange with Grassley indicated he would recuse himself from any matters that were in any way connected to Clinton and the Clinton foundation.
