Russia Collusion Scandal (aka A Leftist fantasy)

forget it

Thats whats going to happen with the left in a few more months after this goes nowhere. They will try to do their best to make the world forget about how childish they acted the past 2+ years because they didn't get their way.

Ok, Mr. President, let me see if I follow: Putin tells Veselnitskaya to admit

she was aiding the Kremlin during her secret meeting with your son, so Russia

can further implicate itself in colluding with your campaign, because ...

you’re too tough for him?

the list of questions Mueller has shared with Trump's lawyers

some bear on the question of collusion or collaboration:

• During the campaign, what did you know about Russian hacking, use of social media or other acts aimed at the campaign?

This is a key question. Mr. Trump praised the release of hacked Democratic emails and called on Russia to find others. Mr. Mueller’s investigation has unearthed evidence that at least one member of Mr. Trump’s campaign — George Papadopoulos — was told that Russia had obtained compromising emails about Mrs. Clinton. But Mr. Trump has repeatedly said there was “no collusion” with the Russian government.

• What knowledge did you have of any outreach by your campaign, including by Paul Manafort, to Russia about potential assistance to the campaign?

This is one of the most intriguing questions on the list. It is not clear whether Mr. Mueller knows something new, but there is no publicly available information linking Mr. Manafort, the former campaign chairman, to such outreach. So his inclusion here is significant. Mr. Manafort’s longtime colleague, Rick Gates, is cooperating with Mr. Mueller.

and my personal favorite on the list of questions...for various reasons

• What do you know about a 2017 meeting in Seychelles involving Erik Prince?

The meeting was convened by Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates. It brought Mr. Prince, an informal adviser to Mr. Trump’s team, together with a Russian investor close to Mr. Putin.

The narrative has gone from "no contact with Russia" to "no collusion with Russia," and my guess has long been that the next step is going to be "Trump had no knowledge of efforts to..."

And we'll see how that story holds up. Maybe everything was perfectly firewalled...but judging by how Trump and the Trump campaign ran their business, I wouldn't count on it.

Hell or high water you'll keep digging until something happens

He will throw his team under the bus so fast, just like he's done to Michael Cohen.

I can see the logic in them doing that but now we are 100% sure this is what transpired?

the author of the NY Times article has given some general information about sourcing...Muellers team discussed the questions with Trumps lawyers...they took notes and seem to have shared the info with a third party who in turn shared it with the Times writer...its a little vague and you're right we dont know 100%

The reporting I heard ( from someone involved with the NYT reporter that wrote the story) was John Dowd was in negotiations with Muellers team since January regarding an interview. Dowd submitted a letter saying Trumps is innocent.
Mueller rejected that.

They picked up negotiations again in March, Contentious negotiations where Mueller gave Dowd this outline.
Dowd took it to the White House and advised Trump to not speak to prosecutors.

Dowd quit over Trump's hard headed insistence that he could handle a room full of prosecutors with damning information.

Bear in mind rule of thumb in all things legal, a lawyer never asks a question where he doesn't already know the answer
