Bryce Harper

HR/FB is 36.4%, which is best of his career. Next closest is 2015 at 27.3%. Think he can sustain it?

ETA... that number is 2nd in mlb. Gotta figure Harper is having some luck even if it doesn't show up in BABIP

Even leading the NL, Not Trout is still 0.075 OPS points behind Trout.

Yeah, but we have Ender Inciarte and a prospect in High-A, so who needs him, right?

Speaking of Harper, this from Steve Phillips:

As usual, take that with a huge grain of salt.

Can you guys imagine if we do sign Harper?

Enscheff will be shamed off the board. The entire South will congregate at SunTrust.

We have to do this.

if Harper would entertain the idea I would gamble on paying him big for 3 years then letting him opt out for another long term deal from someone else. If winning is a any factor in his decision the Braves should look like an attractive place to play. If things don't improve for the Nats there might be a bitter end to his time in Washington as fans might turn on him knowing he is leaving and his final season was wasted. Might motivate Harper for some revenge. The Yankees might not be big suitors now with Judge and Stanton in the corner outfield. Red Sox won't be desperate for Harper. Dodgers I could see making a big play for him. Maybe Cubs too. Giants definite possibility.

Want to know the easiest way to be sure you can ignore someone’s signing predictions?

They use the “they have X dollars coming off the books” line to demonstrate how much money the team has available. That proves they are clueless.
