GDT Fri 7/27 vs Dodgers

Biddle does his job.

Who to pitch the 9th. Minter needs the work. He hasn't pitched since last Friday.

So far Snit has been utterly predictable and sound in his bullpen moves.

I remember arguing about helping an ace out by giving away outs early in the count when Scherzer shut us out.

Scherzer himself credited him going the distance to the Braves getting so many first pitch outs.

Did you know Kershaw gives up a higher batting average on his first pitch than any other. The Dodgers broadcast team put it up. Something like a .370 average when hitters swing at the first pitch. The second pitch is almost as high. After that it is much lower. What is the proper response by hitters when faced with that data.

Chipper always preached going after the first pitch when facing really tough pitchers.

With a guy like Kershaw I think that stuff goes out the window. He's so good he can completely change his approach any given night.

Kershaw was taking advantage of us tonight. Smart, wiley pitchers do that.

Oh geez that's terrible if it was a possibility but didn't happen. I'm thankful that the old regimen is gone.

It wasn't... I was being silly... a number of posters were speculating Seager because it seemed like hours before we heard the return. You can imagine the gnashing of teeth when it was announced Olivera.

The last time the Braves were against Scherzer, it was a bunch of great at bats. The Yankees series had a lot of great at bats. And this isn't going to be a complete game.

It can go the other way and sigh, Freeman probably needed to go dong's away there.
