7/28: Dodgers game 3

AA's refusal or inability to improve this pen is ridiculous. There's no one we can trust outside of Minter and yet AA wants to "show patience with Freeman".

Some of it is manager's opinion, Snitker still believes in Freeman and wants to keep him, which is why other guys have to get optioned out.

7th inning I would go with Moylan. Dodgers have a righty, the pitcher, and 4 righty hitters at the top of the order.

Unless we pick up another reliever. I'd replace Jackson with Phillips in the pen. Phillips' numbers look bad. But its a small sample and I think he's shown some good stuff.

i said the same when others bashed him recently. i don't think snit agrees though.

exactly and snit puts our weaker relievers out in key spots often too. He also broke Freeman, Freeman use to be okay, not now.

The pen is league average. We got 4 scoreless innings last night. Luke Jackson in a 1 run game was not the best move.

Regardless of Snit's managerial skills, we're just in a tailspin in which whatever button he pushes seems to backfire.

It was remarkable this tailspin didn't happen sooner the way he manages his pen. Not seeing so many great late rallies now.

He managed last night like he should've tonight, now we lose both most likely.

We could have countered all the righties in the Dodgers lineup with Moylan in the 6th, Carle in the 7th and Winkler in the 8th. I know Carle pitched last night but I think this is the sequence that Snit should have been thinking about.

Hard to rally when you're consistently down 3-5 runs late like it seems we seem to be most of the time in recent weeks.
