GDT: Marlins @ Braves Trade Deadline Day Special

Allard hasn't had his curve tonight (the rain is probably why) so I want to see him when he has that working.

Ultimately, he's probably going to need pinpoint command to succeed.

I reserve my right to change my opinion, but I've seen nothing to budge on me thinking Allard is a number four or five starter at best.

I do think its premature to determine his future based on his first ML Start in the rain. As 76 said, without the error, he is cruising. Pitch count is good. Only a couple of well hit balls. Not saying he is going to be great, but I don't think we can dismiss him after tonight with all that was going on.

It hasn’t been raining the whole game, and he gets a brand new ball every pitch when it is.

I fully expect folks to make excuses for Allard though. At the end of the day it looks like he’s exactly as advertised.

He’s been giving up batted balls all night. 8
hits so far in under 6 innings. Hardly cruising.
 
So disappointing to see a guy who once hit mid 90s now struggles to hit 90. And everyone was bashing people for dropping him on lists. The scouting reports are accurate.
