GDT: Phillies @ Braves 9/21

Braves just have more talent than the Phillies. Nothing Kapler did or didn’t do could have changed that.
Didn’t Kapler alienate some of his young players like Herrera, Crawford, and Nick Williams with how he chose to play them? I also think on how Hoskins was forced to play out of position all year (he’s regressed quite a bit, but this is more of the stupid Santana signing). I also don’t understand the plan with Kingerey.

Not all of that falls on Kapler, but some of it does.

If Snitker deserves any credit it’s giving Inciarte and Swanson a long leash so they could figure things out this year.

What a great game last night. The Camargo hit felt like Francisco Cabrera in 1992. And Duda's been the pickup that Duvall should've been from the other side. Just his two hits in these last two games was worth whatever we traded to get him. I love this team so much!

I kinda hope we clinch on Sunday, mostly because the game today is nowhere on TV here, cuz Fox regional coverage (They should show the 'other' game on FS2 or somewhere else). So there isn't even a post game show on Fox sports or even MLB when the game is over.

Very similar except no slow ass Bream at 2nd

Kapler seems to have so fully bought into analytics that he follows the book precisely. The main issue is the analytics he is following appear to be a little suspect.

It’s like the Phillies revamped their analytics department so quickly they didn’t do a good job of it, and are relying on the work of folks who aren’t very talented.

I think their GM needs to revamp their roster and prioritize defense like AA did when he came here.

A lot of things have happened for the Braves to have the season they are having. One of the biggest contributors is going from -23 DRS last year as a team to +57 so far in 2018.

The Santana and Arrieta signings dont look so good

Rumors that they may look to move Santana this off-season. Which makes sense as they have too many first basemen, including their best hitter trying to play LF but not doing a good job. Plus Bour too who they may keep I suppose if they trade Santana.

2010 Kimbrel blew it in the playoffs for us IIRC

Still was Conrad. Bobby not putting Diory in. But Kimbrel was also thrust into a high leverage role because our bullpen needed it. Wagner got hurt in Game 1 remember. Farnsworth at that point could barely throw 90mph.

Conrad as MLB Network showed got screened by ump in that 9th inning. He probably makes that play otherwise.
