Score board watching

Snit is winning MOY whether you like it or not, or whether he "deserves" it or not. You don't think there are delusional Rox fans just like you who think Black is a terrible manager?

There is no tangible measures to judge a manager. Only thing is wins vs expected wins. Snit has that firmly in his grasp.

AL will be interesting. Oak has over achieved but Boston is having a historic year. What will the voters lean towards. I still say oak skipper gets it.

So what is our ideal outcome here? Do we want these teams to end up tied and have to play a deciding game, or would we rather not risk it and just have the Rockies in the division outright?

Who knows. Dodgers are better but the Rockies are hot right now.

I would think we would want them to have to play a deciding game no matter what. There's a pretty good chance the Dodgers would throw Kershaw in that game, I would think.

I think these are the outcomes, in order of my preference:
1) Rockies win deciding game
2) Dodgers win deciding game
3) Rockies win division outright
4) Dodgers win division outright

But I could certainly be persuaded that it would be better to avoid the Dodgers in any scenario.

I would switch 2 and 3.

Also have to wonder if the Rockies are getting hot or if the Phillies have just quit. Either way I'd much rather play them than LA.

The Rockies are definitely playing well, and also the Phillies have completely quit.

But I wouldn't ever read too much into how a team finishes the season. The Rockies look very good right now and have won 6 in a row...but they also lost 5 of 6 right before that, including 2 of 3 to the Giants.

This is starting to look good for me and my chances to see another game here in Denver. I just have to figure out how to get tickets. I've never been to playoff game before.

That was easier than I thought. Rockies Game 1 was sold out, but I got tickets to Game 2. No guarantees, of course, but I'll be there if they play! Now just hoping something weird doesn't happen where they play the Cubs instead.

i'm sure the re-sale value will be fine.

Here's the thing. Kershaw is currently scheduled to pitch Saturday, which would line him up for Game 1 of NLDS on Thursday. He would not be available to pitch in the tie break game, and would still be available for Game 1. Beuhler is scheduled to go Sunday. He's their likely game 2 starter. So if it comes down to a 1 game playoff, they will likely have to go with Stripling. They'd still be lined up fine for the NLDS.
