Braves Post Season Roster

Who is Snitckers going to put on the roster?

I would like to see a roster built around 8 position starters, 5 bench players, 4 starters, and 8 relievers.

My guess is--

Position Starters--

Suzuki/Flowers
Freddie
Albies
Culberson
Camargo
Acuna, Jr
Inciarte
Markakis

Bench

Flowers/Suzuki-- RHH
Duda -- LHH
Ruiz-- LHH
Adams-- RHH
Duval--RHH

Starters

Folty
Sanchez
Gausman
Julio

Relievers

Viz
Venters
Minter
Brach
Carle,
Sobota
Fried
Touki

Newk or Freeman could replace Carle

You have seen Duval play as a Brave right? And Adams?

In the game on 9/23 Adams had a HR and a Dbl. In last 7 games he's 2-6 with 2 RBIs. So, yes I've seen him.

Duval is there only because he's a Snitckers/AA fav. Personally, I would not put him on the roster.

Huge numbers from Adams, a career AAA player.

Duvall hasn’t done jack

we all are too aware of how the playoffs are nothing more than a crap shoot. Anyone gets hot they can win it all. Given that I cannot leave Newcomb out of my starters, in fact he would be my #2 starter (with conditions) When Newcomb is good he is really good, and without a doubt our 2nd best starter. Given that my condition is that Fried or Touki are in reserve on the day he starts. If Newcomb walks 3 batters in the first 2 innings you pull him quickly. The outside chance is he pitches well and you have a chance to win that game. Newcomb has had one great game and one bad game against the Dodgers and Colorado each. Take the gamble it is a crap shoot after all.

Bowman is calling RF a lock and saying only one of Brach or Carle may be in our pen, all bad moves IMO. We shouldn't carry RF and we should carry both Brach and Carle.

I think you are right about Newcomb put him in and see what happen if he is struggling bring Touki. All of this prospects need this opportunity to grow.

My biggest question will be if Snit has the balls to use Fried or Touki in a big spot if they are on the roster or if they will be extra innings/ blowout men.
Of course I’d love for our vets to be used when they should be and perform great but the kids could make our bullpen a strength if they could be counted on and used in big spots as well.
Brach vs Carle shouldn’t even be a question as Brach has the better stuff and is the better pitcher.
If RF makes the roster then why in the hell has Rio been getting Pinch hitting appearances the last week?
Duda’s health will be huge since he will be our only solid bat off the bench if Dansby can’t go and Charlie has to start in his place.

How can RF even sniff the roster. I would rather have touki or JT as our last bench option. I know he is thinking defense replacement. But he is not any better than any other starter. And if a guy gets hurt then you find a way to get through in that game and then replace him the next.

I don't understand the fascination the front office and team has with RF. He doesn't even carry a positive defensive WAR (-0.2) to go along with his negative offensive WAR (-0.6).

At least give me a guy with pop off the bench. RF isn't good for advancing a runner to 3rd.

Lord willing, Dansby will be able to go.

If Dansby can't go we do need a backup infielder. And the choices are Ruiz and Flaherty.

Sure makes one wonder if calling Riley up and trying to play games with his clock next spring might've been somewhat beneficial.

Riley is also an option. I hadn't thought of him. But under the rules the Braves can petition to add him.

Don't know that he'd be particularly effective after having been more or less shut down for the year for a couple weeks - of course Flaherty and Rio haven't seen much live pitching lately either.
