We need better hitters

In an ideal world we would get a couple of lefties

Ff is our only lh hitter.
Neck should be gone. Carmago and Alvord better from right. Inciarte league avg in a good year.
Riley is our only close bar and he’s rh

LH hitters or switch hitters who do well from the left side

Not sure why folks keep starting threads for topics that have already been hashed out 10 times, but I'm going to keep hoping the Braves target a cOFer that's a little betetr than the 0-1 win guy Mazara has been.

The debt rules almost certainly mean they won't be handing out $300M contracts, but signing Pollock and Grandal would be a pretty good haul for this team and is at least reasonable to consider.

MLB plays loose with those rules. We arent obligated to be a low payroll team. We can bring our payroll up to league average so long as we are revenue neutral.

The way I structured it we would be paying Harper less than Freeman the first 2 years. Dump Julio and its only adding 12 million in salary off the bat. Gives us 2 years to work off some debt.

If MLB does try to stop us then Liberty needs to get litigious. Sue them for giving loans to the Nationals instead of telling them to reduce payroll. Sue them for the shenanigans with the TV deal. This favortisim towards certain teams needs to stop. The whole **** with TBS.

A solid power bat and a more consistent bullpen would be first on my list. Bullpen shouldn't be that complicated, but upping the power game may be trickier. Hope the young starting pitchers all take another step forward.

AJ Pollack would sound like a match but he seems to get injured a lot which is concerning. I would think there would be more corner outfield quality bats available but there really isn’t much out there. We may need to look to the trade market. I think someone mentioned Starling Marte. He’d be great if he were available.

What does our rotation look like next year? I would assume Foltynewicz and Gausman are locks. I actually hope we keep Julio cuz replacing him with a veteran with his production would cost more then Julio does. So that leaves Newcomb, Fried, Touissant, Sanchez (if he’s brought back), Wright and Wilson to compete for 2 spots. Thoughts?

The problem with Teheran is that no one's going to give us anywhere close to what he's worth. He's on such a team-friendly deal that his production, iirc, isn't far out of line with what the value would be. I'd ask him to get his arm checked out by a specialist, as his velo loss is alarming.

still not sure if i believe he is being wasted there other than a lot of times he doesn't have people to drive in

He should be hitting second or 3rd depending on who we pick up. Hoping Pache will eventually be our lead off guy when ender is gone.

Problem is the offensive strides Pache is making—so far, at least—are in the power department. His plate discipline / on-base skills are still pretty poor.
