Russia Collusion Scandal (aka A Leftist fantasy)

A couple observations re the Cohen guilty plea:

1) I think that red line about not delving into Trump's business dealings has been crossed.

2) A message has been sent to a number of other people very close to the president that their lies to Congress will be prosecuted.

Steele Dossier summary from Wikipedia (edit):

Cohen played a "key role" in the Trump–Russia relationship by maintaining a "covert relationship with Russia", arranging cover-ups and "deniable cash payments", and that his role had grown after Manafort had left the campaign. (Dossier, pp. 18, 30, 32, 34–35)

"COHEN now was heavily engaged in a cover up and damage limitation operation in the attempt to prevent the full details of TRUMP's relationship with Russia being exposed." (Dossier, p. 32)

the dossier continues to have more and more information verified.

ABC reporting that one of Mueller's questions to Trump concerned Trump Tower in Moscow.

Horace Mann, an early advocate of compulsory public schooling, wrote in 1847 that education’s
purpose was to foster “conscientious jurors, true witnesses, incorruptible voters.”

now we wait...for Republicans of conscience to step forward

who will step forward and draw the appropriate conclusions and explain them to the public

Kasich?

Romney?

Schwarzenegger?

This is a moment to step forward.

Has to be someone who's going to be in office after this lame duck session.

Which means of the ones you listed only Romney qualifies.

Arnold will just get laughed at by Trump's base because he himself is an immigrant and a California Republican.

Flake is leaving office. Glad hes trying to protect Mueller but should have been doing this long long ago.

Kasich has been quiet and is leaving Governorship.

Speaker Ryan has been pretty much useless in standing up to Trump.

Rubio the opportunist would love to step in here, but his brand is worth so little right now.

Gardner may do it. Just because he knows his Senate seat in 2020 is in trouble.

Who else is there? McConnell? ROFL. Graham? He's lost any credibility he had when he did a 180 and became Trump's stooge, even more so after McCain died. Cruz has no credibility. Sold his soul to Trump twice. Christie is also an opportunist who has insulated himself and kept distance from the Trump mess relatively well. But his brand like Rubio's has already been near rock bottom.

Ted Cruz

Edited my post to include a few more names after you posted that.

Cruz is pretty much spineless. Sold his soul and gave all his political capital to Trump twice in three years.

Ted Cruz or bust. He is the GOP's last great hope.

Kasich, btw, keeps talking about mounting a primary challenge. Good for him. The party could use a modern-day Don Quixote.
