I don't think his salary will derail the Braves from addressing their other needs.

Seeing some of the potential deals for Kluber I really like. Mlb.com suggested Inciarte/Wright/Gohara. I liked some of the other potential deals. I like the idea of Acuna in CF and would not mind trading Ender for an ace with 3 years of team control left. For 2019 we have Camargo and Riley with no set starting position who could fill a corner outfield spot. I would hope we could sign a free for atleast 1 of the 2 open outfield spots. Pollock would make a lot more sense to sign if we would play him in CF.

That's also why I like Soroka. Newk throws so many non-competitive fastballs to right handed hitters. They just sail up and a foot outside.

I think Acuna has the talent to be an elite CF, but currently does not possess the discipline nor the skill.

I think his floor is 3 WAR next year. Wouldn't surprise me if he smashes that though, considering he'll have his first healthy offseason and preseason (assuming he doesn't get hurt again) in two years and has his 2nd big contract to play for. Dude is going to be extremely motivated and I'm sure is currently working his ass off.

If you have a plan to fill those OF spots then why is it not smart? I've also read where Acuna is a much better CFer than corner OFer... I don't know if it's true or not though. If there's a scenario where you could somehow trade for Haniger/Diaz, Kluber/Bauer, sign McCutchen... that would be an absolutely unreal team. That being said, I understand that's a fantasty that may have a .005% chance of happening but AA wouldn't trade Ender without having a solid plan in place is the point.

Haniger likely will not be traded, Julio would have to be traded to afford all of the above and that still likely wouldn't be enough money cleared and the prospect capital would likely be immense even with MLB proven talent included in the deals a la Ender, Newcomb, etc...

So that scenario is a dream fantasy scenario but the point is that Ender is expendable if a plan is in place and watching AA working, I have no doubt that he would have a plan in place to address any scenario like that.
