Cetainly not a sexy name but if Chicago's going to non-tender Avisail Garcia, there's a budget name that could be added to the OF list.

Not a huge upgrade by any stretch, but Steamer's not terribly down on him in 2019 (.325 wOBA, 106 wRC+) - 1 year $8 million (projected) as a stopgap until Riley/Pache arrive if you're considering extending Donaldson for another couple years if he's healthy would leave planty of money to address the pen.

What they're projected to make is irrelevant once they are non-tendered. They are a FA. And no one is giving Garcia 8 million.

The only thing I'm arguing is that saying "but he was a top draft pick and has a good pedigree" doesn't really mean squat. When you're 28, you are who you are, regardless of where you were drafted. I have no doubts he'd look good in RF, assuming his defense is good enough. If you want to support your argument, use some stats like you did in your first sentence on your second post, don't tell me where he was on a prospect list or where he was drafted.

Well I wasn't tellin YOU anything as I wasn't even replying to one of your dumb posts. I've used plenty of statistics for Haniger in previous posts. Go away:

I get that - the projected number still helps as a bit of a guide though. If their former team didn't think they were worth keeping at that number, it'll be pretty tough for them to expect an offer at that level from anyone else - if any of the other teams thought they were worth that, they'd have traded for him.

Robbie Grossman also non-tendered. Could be a solid candidate for our 4th outfield spot. Fantastic OBP type of guy who had an .882 OPS against lefties last season. If we sign a right handed outfielder he'd be a good target.

Lots of intriguing players being non-tendered today. I don't think we'll have much trouble filling out our offensive depth effectively.

Passan said Cano deal being pushed to Monday and the holdup is how much money is sent to the Mets. Passan said mid 20 range, oh boy.
