I second that motion...

Let’s suppose we are signing another SP. If that were to be true we’d likely be moving one of our current SP in a trade. If we were to sign another SP who is someone that would actually improve us and be someone the board would universally like?

I’d trust DK more than any other starter we have in a 5 game series besides Folty so if the deal is right then I’d be in.

This is the issue that most Braves fans, and I use that term lightly, don’t understand. Most of the fans on social media are so upset that AA hasn’t done anything since JD. They want a trade or a signing. Anything, just do something! But, AA isn’t going to overpay and in the big scheme of things, he is correct. The Braves have worked hard and lost a lot of games to get to this point of having hope for the future. The last thing we need to do is trade Anderson, Riley and Pache for 2 years of Reamulto, but that’s what some fans want. We all need to relax and let AA do his work. If we don’t sign anybody else, what’s wrong with a future of Acuna, Pache and Waters in the OF and Freeman, Albies, Swanson and Riley in the IF and Contreras behind the plate? And, with our young pitching coming.....we’re just fine in my opinion.

Yup. All AA has done this off-season is buy 6 wins at the price of 6M per win. Boring.

Veteran starter on reasonable deal.

Set up man with leverage arm that falls to them cheap. Probably a bounce back candidate. Or maybe just a lefty specialist. Watching Holland here but plenty of these guys bouncing around.

Whatever they are trying to do in the trade market if it materializes.

righty reliever is my guess

He's made the team better, just was all early so now we get to sit here and watch the division go by us. Wonder how many Wins the other teams have added

They have added more wins by throwing stupid money at certain players. The Cutch and Corbin signings are two of the poorest values of the off-season. The gnats and fillies have bigger budgets than we do. Fortunately they are being stupid about how they spend it.

I don't think it will be Keuchel though. Qualifying offer attached.

So far the pitching market has been expensive, which as we know was the Braves cited reason for what they've done.

YRs AAV
Corbin 6 23.3
Happ 2 17
Eovaldi 4 17
Morton 2 15
Kikuchi 4 14
Harvey 1 11
Lynn 3 10
Anibal 2 9.5
Cahill 1 9
Sabathia 1 8
Holland 1 7
T. Ross 1 5.5
S Miller 1 2
Wainwright 1 2
Pomeranz 1 1.5

Even if the market is narrowing, can't see Keuchel doing worse than Happ's/Morton's deal.

Gio, Ervin Santana, Jason Hammel, Buchholz, Shields looks more likely, etc.

For the most part I think they have lined up with their position player counterparts. Happ, Eovaldi, Morton, Anibal, Sabathia, etc are all coming in at ~6 million per expected WAR in 2019. Even Corbin isn't horrible with his pushing ~7 million per win in 2019 (although the years on that contract likely won't be kind to the Nats). It's a clear reduction in salaries across the board.

With that being said DC is a 3 win guy and is a tick better than Morton/Happ. It will be interesting to see where he comes in at so we can get a good gauge on how the QO suppresses salaries. At this point I could see a 1 year deal so he could get back on the market without it next year.

I'd like to see a deal for Leclerc from the Rangres or Will Smith from the Giants. I think Smith is much more likely due to cost and AA's relationship with Zaidi

I also wouldn't mind a deal for Frazier to replace Duvall.

Dallas is fine...just not for the price/years he will receive. I just don’t see him dropping that much.

I was really hoping for Morton..:that ship has sailed. I don’t see anyone left I would really want, and if you do get that person...what the heck are you going to do with Julio??
