Pretty sure he said those are the players discussed, and since he’s coming from Marlins sources it makes sense it’s what they are asking for.

All talk about Riley and/or Anderson actually being offered came from us assuming things.
 
Why would the Marlins want Pache? Isn't Brinson basically the same guy? How many super defenders that have hitting potential but do not hit do they want?

Riley makes sense b/c the Marlins could move Anderson to RF and get better.

That said, I hope the Marlins screw this up and they take the poo poo platter for JTR.

Simba has a career ISO of .113. Its not like he's completely devoid of power, but that seems like a weird hill to die on.

He knows more than the Braves' beat writers but I've still never trusted him.
 
I'd have given up Anderson in a JTR deal yesterday but if they want Pache they have to include their Anderson. This is Jeter and Miami we are talking about!
 
I know it could be obvious but I’m looking for a flurry of moves this week. It seems like teams would want to get things done before ST. I hope for this: Harper signs with SD. Machado signs with White Sox. Kimbrel signs a 2 year deal with us. Reamulto gets traded to Cincinnati. We keep the kids for now. I’m happy.

I'd look for smaller signings and/or camp invites - Hector Rondon/Bud Norris/Jake Diekman as potential pen pieces, Adam Jones as a potential Markakis platoon-mate replacing Duval, with AA "caving" to include Anderson in a Realmuto deal combined with a Keuchel signing that frees them up to include almost anyone in a potential deal for a TOR arm at the deadline if needed.

A Donaldson/Mac/Markakis/Realmuto/Keuchel offseason while hanging onto every top-flight arm other than Anderson AND Riley, Pache, Waters, and Contreras would likely exceed any hope any of us had for this winter to begin with, and a Folty, Keuchel, Gausman, Newcomb, Julio rotation should be more than enough to keep this team "in the mix" during the first half - buying time for AA to see if Newk, Gohara, Soroka, Touki, Wright, or Wilson take steps forward.

IMO the offense is going to be very streaky at times...

But if we can get a rebound from Markakis/Albies after their second half and if Inciarte hits again, we will have times when this team will be super fun to watch
