Don’t hate on others because you have to live in philly. We still love you for who you are not what crappy city you live in. I am sure there are worse places to be. But I think the consensus here is that philly is pretty awful city. Hell you can’t even buy a beer at a gas station. Had to go to some booze store. What kind of anarchy is that ****.

i choose to live in the great city of philadelphia.
i do like that southerners prefer to stay in the south, tho. trust me, we all appreciate it.

I'm not going to **** on a place I've never been. All I know about Philadelphia, other than the role it played in the beginning of our country, is that it has sports teams I detest and horrible fans of those teams. Anything else I could say about it would be regurgitating someone else's opinion, which I try not to do as a general rule.

That being said, I think most of us on here who hail from the south can agree that we're happy you chose to stay up there as well. From your posts in this thread you seem like you fit in well with the Phillies and Eagles fans. And in case you haven't noticed, there are a hell of a lot more people and businesses migrating from the north to the south and Texas than vice-versa these days. It's almost as if having good people, a growing economy, better natural beauty, and weather that isn't abysmal is being seen as a good thing.

Sources: The Dodgers are back in the mix for Bryce Harper. Club officials, including manager Dave Roberts, were seen in Las Vegas on Sunday.

If the Phillies lose out on both Harper and Machado, that would be fantastic.....they'd then go get Keuchel and/or Kimbrel, but that would be funny

Dodgers are apparently “back in” on Harper, tho seeking a short term deal. At this point I hope the saga drags on a couple more weeks so that he’s not ready to play by Opening Day

I've thought over the last three weeks that Harper seems to be doing everything he can to not be in Philly. If he chooses the Dodgers, that pretty much answers it.

there's a reason one area is far more densely populated than the other.
i'm curious what you know about our weather tho..how is it abysmal? compared to the oppressively (bad word choice?) hot weather of most of the south.
you can take our retirees, tho - they fit in well with the slow, dull, outdated mindsets of the south.

Why do you like the braves then? You realize braves' country is the south, right?

grew up that way and can't help it now.
i do realize that, tho! i know perhaps most of the people in mississippi don't realize atlanta is in the south, but most of us up here don't have to have that fact pointed out.

You hate southerners and the elderly. You seem like a great guy

Hot weather >>>> cold weather, unless you're a sloth who stays inside all the time and avoids sunlight and physical activity at all costs.

Common sense will tell you that your area is more densely populated because it was one of the first areas settled, was industrialized first, had better transportation infrastructure, etc.

We have our share of dumb asses and backward mindsets down here...but you can find that anywhere. Take a peek at the nearest mirror if you don't believe me.

you hate philadelphia despite probably never leaving beautiful..mississippi.
seem like a great guy.

I have said nothing about your beloved city. I travel lots of places... north, south, east, and west. I love bigger cities, but only to visit.

I much prefer to be out in spring/fall weather than ridiculously hot and humid weather. speaking of sloth, why are people in the south so fat and unhealthy? you wanna compare those metrics?

use any excuse you like. more people are willing to pay more to live in a more crowded area for a reason.

speaking of your last couple sentences, tho, i know facts don't mean much in the south. so nothing i said above will move your needle.

There's been a lot of complaining by the players about big name FAs not having good enough offers (Kimbrel, etc.). But I'm starting to think more and more that it's actually Machado and Harper that have been holding up the market. Those guys were in no hurry to sign, which is understandable. However, you've had a fair number of the teams with money this offseason pursuing Machado and/or Harper.

If I'm the agent of someone like Kimbrel, I'm telling him to wait until Harper signs and see if the losers of the Harper derby jump in on Kimbrel.

I also could see guys like Kimbrel being told by teams that they'll be interested if they lose out on Harper and Machado.

We've seen plenty of years where the FA spending spree doesn't happen until after the big players come off the board. Why would it be that different now?

Your choice.

We have plenty of people who are fat and out of shape here. I'm specifically referring to you, not the general population.

Use any excuse you like...there is a reason people are moving out of your area and into the south and Texas.

I can be in this location after leaving my house within 30 minutes.

Can be on the water here within two hours tops.

I'm sure you get faster download speeds for your Pornhub subscription though, and a much better cheesesteak. Congrats on that.
