Interesting lineup. I would also guess that when a lefty is going we will see at least one of Muk/Ender replaced by a right handed hitter.

With Newcomb going today and presumably Teheran tomorrow, I'm guessing Teheran makes one more start on March 22, which will line him up to pitch opening day on March 28.

I think there is a good chance we go with righty starting pitchers the whole Phillies series. With the acquisitions of Realmuto and McCutchen their lineup skews strongly righty (even with Harper).

This would leave Newcomb to pitch the home opener. He would make 2 more spring starts after this one.

Holland has a history of arm problems and still made his 1st appearance in the 2nd week of the season. What are you even talking about?

And had such a *hitty first half his career will never recover from it. Expecting Kimbrel - or anyone else - who will already be rushing to catch up and start helping the big club to prove he "deserves" the money he gets by tuning up against kids in extended spring training is begging to have the same thing happen to Craig. If you sign him now, having him close games two weeks in is beyond stupid - I don't care if he's been working out on his own like Greg did last spring or Keuchel's supposedly doing now. As of today, he's missed a month - if you target any date prior to the second week of May for Kimbrel, you're playing with fire.

Holland was older and barely a year from recovering from a major injury. There are zero similarities.

Shall I list guys who signed late, got ready quick, and had great years?

Floored by 3 LHH vs LHP, then those 3 followed by a weak hitting RHH. It might be ST lineup, but it's definitely a foul ball lineup.

Logic...it's not for everyone.

The logic behind the lineup is Albies in the 1 spot with Ender in the 7 spot vs a LHP. The logic is intelligently platooning in the lead off spot. Who fills out the bottom of the order due to the ST rest schedule is meaningless.

The logic is sound, and isn't something I expected Snit to do this year.

There is an issue with Muk, Mac and Ender hitting consecutively against a lefty. But it isn't likely to happen in the regular season. First, Flowers will get almost all the starts against lefties. Second, Muk and Ender will get their days off against lefties.
