he didn't look particularly good vs the braves in the opener either.
Yeah, that one should have been much closer than the score showed. I'd imagine it would be a bit different if Nola shows us that mess next time around.

So Austin Riley and Bryse Wilson could have gotten the deal done....?
There is no reason he is not a Brave is that was the case

The tweet just listed all the Braves pitching prospects to make some top 100 list. Not that they were on the Marlins list. I think they wanted someone in the top 50 plus riley or pache.
gnats walk it off...David Robertson couldn't get an out...single to Rendon, then 3 walks
Robertson didn’t look good in the Braves series either. The phils have an all star offense but that pitching could be an adventure.
Realmuto isn't going to help that staff. He is a worse receiver/framer than I had realized.
I do think his offense will be better due to getting out of Miami but I wouldn't be shocked if the Phillies catchers only have a 1 WAR advantage over the Braves at the end of the year now that framing has been put into the mix.
The Phillies are back up 7-6. If they drop today, they'll be 1-4. I'm starting to think the Nats just might suck.

Someone mentioned in the game thread that JTR looked like a HS catcher trying to frame the ball, and he was spot on. Constantly snapping the ball into the middle of the zone after he catches the ball. It was really bad.
Compare it to how Flowers catches a pitch while moving the glove as he's catching it. It makes it look like the pitch carried his glove into the zone, rather than some obvious snatch into the zone after he catches it.
This is why I hate the idea of robot umps. Framing is a skill that has been taught and used for decades. And now (thanks in part to FG) it's a quantifiable skill. Robot umps would make this skill obsolete and this bothers me tremendously.
