I've not agreed with AA much on his roster moves lately but imagine the pitchforks and fire folks coming for him if he'd have traded Riley / Soroka! That would have been a disaster....

Soroka was off limits. It would have been Riley and Anderson. But Riley is showing he was more valuable all by himself.

The way he hits homers and how he squares the ball is like Ronald's. I know they are different, but his like Ronald's are no doubters. You hear it off the bat.

It's in Atlanta. Next AL road series is in Minnesota in August

The Detroit series is in Atlanta, so unless some rules change that won’t have any bearing on Riley’s promotion.

August 5th at the Twins is the next time the Braves will need a DH. If things keep going as they are, Riley may have forced Ender to the bench well before then.

If JD hits the 10 day IL Riley probably needs to be the replacement rather than Camargo.

All in all the decision not to pursue JTR beyond whatever value mark AA set turned out to be a great decision. I still wish they had gone out and got Grandal though, but it looks like the draft strategy is dictating that the 60th pick is critical to maintain.
