Global Events & Politics Überthread

Is it possible that the media got the popularity of the Brexit party all wrong?

I suppose this wouldn't be the first thing the media has gotten wrong in the past few years.

Reports of Facebook shutting down sites of Italian populists 2 weeks before the elections.

Please keep telling me about Russian interference and how patriotically American facebook is.

I agree thethe, I think we should extradite each and every American who meddles or attempts to meddle in another counties elections to face prosecution.

Rejection of progressive ideology in Australia despite media claiming the results were assured up until epection night.

The global coalitions are changing.

Any feedback on the Australian elections? Maybe look inward to see why all of these democratic nations are shifting hard right?

I guess the answer is no because it leads to the inconvenient realization that a tremendous population of Muslim people want to destroy Jews and Western society.

But, keep believing what the propaganda western media machine tells you.

Irrelevant point to the task at hand which is defeating China before they get too big and try to take over the world.

Obama sat there and let Xi run circles around him. Now there are reports of bank runs in China and a weakening econcomy resulting from the tariffs. Sit back and watch what a real president does aside from making deals with Iran and turn a blind eye to Hezbollah in the western hemisphere.

China wants to be a World Power, not rule the world. If anything America wants to rule the world and we kind of do. China is a threat to our global domination and thats the issue. I dont see why China is expected to obey our laws or international law when we do not. You can blame the Democrat all you want but no Republican other than Trump was going to fight China.

China is ran by the principle of centralized rule. The US founding is the exact opposite and is intended to empower the individual. China will want to extend their rule to all peoples and have shown incredible amounts of aggression within their hemisphere. If we are foolish enough to think it will stop there then we deserve to lose our spot as the dominant global power.

But, working with Japan/India/SK and giving another option to the Afriann and SoutEast Asian countries, all of which want to divest themselves away from the Chinese infrastructure investment traps, this administration is FINALLY putting pressure on China to change their ways. I don't think we can settle for a deal with them anymore unless it has significant changes to their operative model. THe best thing for America is to reconfigure the global supply chain. Have more items bought from SouthEast Asia. Develop more products in America as the relative advantage in labor costs are somewhat muted now with the advent of automation. Put the screws to China and get money out of that country.

Ok, I guess you should familiarize me with the case for Trump as master of grand strategy?

Check out what he is doing with Japan/India while hitting China hard with tariffs. Its a global strategy that impacts China negatively. Its a great change from the prior administration of talking a lot and doing nothing all while letting Iran run wild.

European elections show massive shifts in EU politics. Pro-Europeans still have the overwhelming majority but national politics are going to drive further wedges into the coalition.

I'm interested in seeing what countries like Italy/France do about the migrant problems. Extreme policy measures will be supported by a large percentage of the population. And if that works then it sets a blueprint for the rest of the western world that has been overtaken by illegal immigration.
