Around The Majors 2019

I know people here track the Phillies games, but the Nats are still a bigger threat to me. Corbin, Stras, and Scherzer every 3/5 days is no joke, and Sanchez has done well since coming off the DL. They're still the biggest threat to the Braves this year.

I agree. Zips thinks they will finish ahead of the Phillies this year for 2nd

Next time we play them Culberson better play, he owns them and last time we got swept not using him. He didn't even get an AB pinch hitting either. He did PR though. Remember, he led us over them last year.

Not really sure Culberson would have made a difference or not, but that was a tough 2 game series.

Gausman couldnt start another game, not with how bad he's been even if it's bad luck.

While Newk has absolutely earned another shot, I'd say this has more to do with the fact that all of the Phillies best hitters do worse vs LHP over their career. While it hasn't been the case this year, it's probably a SSS issue. Putting up 2 LHP against them (assuming Fried pitches one of these games) increases our odds of taking the series, and the division lead.

They've dug themselves a hole again. And while their rotation ia good, it does have concerns after the top 3. Also, Stras has thrown over 150 innings exactly once since 2014, so I would not be surprised to see him take another IL stint at some point.

the Phillies will be looking to buy contracts at the deadline. not sure how much they’ll have to give up in way of legit prospects tho. no one looking great and not much depth.

Yeah, that’s about their only choice unless some team gets dumb. I can see them going after Greinke. With how dumb the DBacks are, it wouldn’t surprise me if they somehow coerced AZ into giving them Peralta in the deal.

Greinke isn’t the worst target for them.
think and hope Peralta will have too many suitors.
also really hate to see it but Arrieta with another garbage start tonight. truly a shame.

You hate to see it.

Hates USA
Hates trump
Always angry

Nothing wrong with him... just liberal

only one of these is correct

it shouldn't be hard to figure out which one

Nobody did until goldfly took the opportunity to tell how much he hates America.

Well obviously he didn’t in that post. Whenever he sees an opportunity to voice his distaste about this country he takes it. He is like a rabid animal foaming at the mouth.

lol, you're funny. i really haven't paid much attention to you. you always make a statement and then literately the next one say that you were lying with your statement?

Still not 100% convinced getting Greinke doesn't still make sense for us with one of Folty or Gausman going their way to offset a little of the money. Would be interesting to see what kind of a deal the value charts would come up with having one of those two going back.

i would like to know what it would take for Greinke but that 70 million for 2 years after this year is scary imo for years 38 and 39
