Bruce didnt even get close enough to dive for it
Ender probably gets that ball or close to it if he's healthy

statcast calculates a 65% catch probability on Mac's hit
Phillies recap:
“McCann dropped his bat on a 2-2 splitter. The ball carried toward left-center field. Bruce might not have gotten his best jump on a ball with a 65 percent catch probability, according to Statcast. It fell in front of him. Both runs scored.
“I felt like I got a fine jump, I felt like it was just placed perfectly,” Bruce said. “Obviously, hindsight being 20/20, if I dive for it ... we'll never know. I didn't feel like I could get to it. I really didn't. It's tough. I wanted to get to it, I just don't feel like I could have.””
I'm not following on the Phillies roster construction. Given that Kingery is their best defensive OF (and not really an OF), one would think they would have a caddy for Bruce. It surely isn't Nick Williams, who is not much of a defensive OF either. They just picked up Brad Miller and he's a decent LHH utility guy who has played some OF, but that's not his forte either and he seems superfluous given the Phillies already have utility guy in Sean Rodriguez and positional flexibility with Kingery. They seem like a team that could benefit from a strictly defensive OF. They certainly have enough bats.
yeah that should have been an out
So.....are we good?
Like 95+ win pace good?
In my opinion, the Phillies are the worst ran heavy analytic team in baseball. Their approach to team building makes no sense and that was true last season when they paid an obvious declining Arrieta and signed Carlos Santana to displace their stud rookie first baseman who very obviously didn’t have the body type to play an adequate LF.
I love the Faillies whine about injuries and how this series isn’t fair. Did they see who started the first series we played. JT, wilson and Wright. Two guys who were not ready to compete yet. Then we had venters, Biddle, Sobo and minter all who were ineffective or bad. Injuries happen. They happpen all the time. You build a team to cover those injuries. The faillies didnt. They got the best 20 guys they could and didn’t pay attention to the depth.
I’d bring back the Mac/Flowers tandum again next year. Langeliers is probably gonna be a fast mover since he’s a college bat. Mac brings so much more to the table that can’t be measured with counting stats. You can just see how the younger guys look at him.
Wouldn’t be surprised to see that before tonorrow’s game.
i actually prefer Dayton anyway. But either would be more useful than Winkler imo.
BMac might become a Braves coach/manager some day.

We are also going to have a ton of money coming off the books and a lot of cheap players on the roster. I’d much rather spend that money on Grandal. He’d be a big upgrade and wouldn’t have a qualifying offer attached since he received one last year.
