You can’t make this stuff up folks haha
because his last 15 appearances have been pretty damn good. Why Sobotka in a relatively close game?
The Nats have won so we absolutely cannot lose this and drop two of three to the Marlins.
Getting Ender back, sending Camargo down, and platooning Ender and Riley for a bit would be a good idea. Riley could also give Donaldson a day off here and there.
I just find it funny you always say how smart AA is, yet it's AA that keeps Riley in there while you throw shade on a young hitter 24/7. Everyone knew Riley would come back down to earth, yet you act like only you knew he wouldn't hit 70 HRs this year.

This is a very good topic for intelligent discussion. It’s too early to peg Riley as a platoon player, but...
OPS vs RHP (43 PAs): 1.311
OPS vs LHP (154 PAs): .783
Does it make sense to use Riley on the short side of a 3-headed platoon with Markakis and Inciarte at the age of 22 and give up that development time he could be getting at AAA?
With Duvall and Camargo (whose strong platoon side is against LHP) I don’t think it’s a reasonable course of action to relegate Riley to a role as the short side of a platoon.
of course... lol great reading comprehensionAgreed. It would suck to become sellers the day before the all star break.
We shouldn't let the Marlins take two of three regardless of what the Nats do.

There aren’t exactly a lot of other good options at the moment...
Shall we go back and review what folks were saying about Riley while I was pointing out these red flags from week 1?
