The Trump Presidency

Ex-FBI official: FBI reluctant to probe white supremacists because Trump considers them his base

Trump fanatic sentenced to 20 years for his acts of terrorism against the people Trump calls the "enemy of the people". Totally normal.

Just remember how often people like thethe I know in real life told me Obama was the most racist President ever because he gave a primary speech about race, or because he said if he had a son he'd look like Trayvon.

How that is considered racist but the things Trump says to incite racism at his rallies isn't, I'll never know.

Its going to get really ugly when this clown gets the boot. After all their criticism of the Russia stuff they are going to latch on to whatever lame conspiracy Trump goes with to explain why he loses. There are going to be all kinds of calls for investigations by the right. They are going to cite the Russia investigation as to why they should get to investigate despite fighting that investigation to the bitter end. Calling it 400 days in advance specifically for when thethe brings that **** here. They will never accept this defeat. On the off chance he manages to win re-election it is probably the worst case scenario for him. People arent going to put up with this **** when the economy isnt booming. Best case scenario for Trump is to croak before leaving office.

I think Trump is privately happy to see racial violence. It's exactly what he has called for with his constant hateful rhetoric.

Trump views the racial violence as collateral.

He's trying to increase max turnout from his base. A white supremacist's vote counts just as much as yours or mine.

He knows he's in trouble with independents and in battleground states. He's gone too far with his rhetoric to try and pivot back to the center.

He's trying to avoid prosecution for things he knows he's in deep **** with and views a second election as immunity and that the cases will get swept under the rug.

It's his GOTV effort in broad daylight. All this stuff like Charlottesville and El Paso are just collateral damage. Ends justifying the means.

That's not to say he isn't racist. I think he's blurring the lines as much as he can with his rhetoric to get the people needs to vote to vote while pissing off the people who wouldn't vote for him anyways.

His gambit is getting turnout on left to be low again whether it's because of clashing ideologies in the Democratic Party, or be so outlandish that people won't turn out because they assume he's going to lose to whomever is the Dem candidate anyways. And he's also hoping Biden is nominee because it will be easier to beat up Biden on stage with how awful Joe looks in 2019 compared to 2012 Veep debate where he owned Ryan. And Biden won't turn out progressives.

The fact his approval rating is at 40% is a miracle in itself. He's hoping there are enough independents who will turn a blind eye and cover their nose for his rhetoric again, because the economy is what it is.

Sad that this is what our country has come to. But the right has been leaning this way for a long time now and Trump just allowed them to express themselves openly.

President Trump’s re-election campaign has harnessed Facebook advertising to push the idea of an “invasion” at the southern border, amplifying the fear-inducing language about immigrants that he has also voiced at campaign rallies and on Twitter.

Since January, Mr. Trump’s re-election campaign has posted more than 2,000 ads on Facebook that include the word “invasion” — part of a barrage of advertising focused on immigration, a dominant theme of his re-election messaging. A review of Mr. Trump’s tweets also found repeated references to an “invasion,” while his 2016 campaign advertising heavily featured dark warnings about immigrants breaching America’s borders.

I should first say it is possible to be in favor of much tougher immigration and border control policies without being a xenophobe or racist.

However, we have in the oval office someone who has pushed the idea of Mexicans as rapists, of a judge with Mexican ancestry as being inherently unable to fairly perform his job simply because of his ancestry. Whose advisors and supporters have talked about invading caravans bringing death to Americans.

I don't think Trump and his supporters are responsible for the actions of Patrick Cruisius or Robert Bowers or Cesar Sayoc. They are responsible for their own actions.

What Trump and company are responsible for are their contributions to public discourse and their own actions and choices when it comes to rhetoric and the way they have characterized entire groups of people. Those choices have been xenophobic and racist. The damage to our civic fabric is incalculable. Yes, there have always been dark undercurrents to American political life. Trump is more a manifestation than a cause of those undercurrents. But he has made his own notable contributions.

The level of butt hurt in this thread is hilarious.

What a sad life it must be to obsess over every piece of left wing propaganda and misspoken word the president says. The real estate this man takes up in your heads is pathetic.

Left wing media is inciting racism and division far more than the president ever has. Democrats are purposely keeping black people poor and allowing anyone and everyone to cross our borders in order to gain votes. They have you tricked into believing "white supremacy" is not only a huge problem, but a huge percentage of the Trump voter base. The insignificance of these people to the general public is so small that literally no one would ever even spend a second thinking about them if the left wing propaganda machine didn't spend every waking moment of the day making them out to be this massive enemy of the country and ally to the president. It's propaganda. Brainwashing. Leading people who are easily swayed into believing something that is obviously not true. Where the hell were all these white supremacists before Trump? Rolling around in the woods in tactical pants pretending to be soldiers while the rest of the country didn't give a rats ass about them. Now left wing media has them plastered all over the place, tricking you into thinking they even hold an ounce of legitimacy. As if Trump is inciting race wars and active shooters to gain a few thousand votes. Lets not be ridiculous here.

Luckily most of the country is smarter than those of you who think you're "woke" in this thread. It's the reason why Trump was elected in the first place. Trust me, most people really would have preferred a better candidate than Trump but the people the left are trotting out are next levels of bat **** crazy so don't be surprised when he's elected again. I'm just glad most of the country isn't as easily swayed by tweets and CNN reports as you guys are.
