The Trump Presidency

Like cajun says, the Dems have to play by a different set of rules than the GOP.

The GOP can drag out Seth Rich conspiracy theories and turn a blind eye tl Trump's rhetoric and his red meat to white supremacists.

Dems are supposed to answer for everything antifa does, can't do what Castro did even though it's public record.

If anything we do not shame enough rich folks who are buying our politicians. I would like to know the people behind the scenes buying out our politicians who are pushing climate change as a hoax, the election machine companies tellinf McConnell to sit on the election security bills.

We should shame them for threatening public welfare just as we shame the politicians they bought off.

Politicians don't mind taking the bullet for these lobbying companies because they get re-elected most of the time anyways.

Political donations to campaigns are public record anyways.

I just find it funny Kevin McCarthy of all people is criticizing anyone for doing this when he and the GOP never hesitate to say SOROS SOROS SOROS SOROS.

Trump has already been attacking Dems since he ran for President on people who've donated or contributed to Hillary or Obama.

So you're ok with a hit list? Because that's where we are now.

Those folks got death threats after that post

People should take care with their actions and rhetoric. It seems like common sense. The names of political donors are in the public domain. But publicizing them in this way is not a good idea. Do we really want people's kids harassed in school (or worse) because dad or mom maxed out to the Trump campaign? I don't think so.

There is a lot of bad stuff people should be called out for. Like Sarah Palin's crosshairs campaign against Democratic opponents. Ditto the little stunt by Roger Stone with Judge Jackson. Or Trump's comments about the "second amendment folks" taking out their anger against Hilary. Or all the Soros stuff.

I don't recall our friends on these boards speaking out against any of that. In fact I recall the argument being advanced that what Trump has been saying and tweeting doesn't matter because it is just words.

There is a quote I like that might resonate with some: Chutzpah is that quality enshrined in a man who, having killed his mother and father, throws himself at the court's mercy because he is now an orphan.

The level of butt hurt in this thread is hilarious.

What a sad life it must be to obsess over every piece of left wing propaganda and misspoken word the president says. The real estate this man takes up in your heads is pathetic.

Left wing media is inciting racism and division far more than the president ever has. Democrats are purposely keeping black people poor and allowing anyone and everyone to cross our borders in order to gain votes. They have you tricked into believing "white supremacy" is not only a huge problem, but a huge percentage of the Trump voter base. The insignificance of these people to the general public is so small that literally no one would ever even spend a second thinking about them if the left wing propaganda machine didn't spend every waking moment of the day making them out to be this massive enemy of the country and ally to the president. It's propaganda. Brainwashing. Leading people who are easily swayed into believing something that is obviously not true. Where the hell were all these white supremacists before Trump? Rolling around in the woods in tactical pants pretending to be soldiers while the rest of the country didn't give a rats ass about them. Now left wing media has them plastered all over the place, tricking you into thinking they even hold an ounce of legitimacy. As if Trump is inciting race wars and active shooters to gain a few thousand votes. Lets not be ridiculous here.

Luckily most of the country is smarter than those of you who think you're "woke" in this thread. It's the reason why Trump was elected in the first place. Trust me, most people really would have preferred a better candidate than Trump but the people the left are trotting out are next levels of bat **** crazy so don't be surprised when he's elected again. I'm just glad most of the country isn't as easily swayed by tweets and CNN reports as you guys are.

I don't know how old you are (and don't really care). All I can say is I have been involved in politics (Democratic) for over 40 years and was an avid follower of politics as a grade school and high school student prior to that and what is happening with Trump is really unprecedented in my experience. You're correct that the knuckle-dragging white supremicists have always been around (the same crazy ideas were kicked around throughout my career) and they have had out-sized influence in the political sphere at several junctures in American history. What they have never had is a President as blatant and careless whose rhetoric so closely tunes to their beliefs. Having lived through the Civil Rights movement and Vietnam era, as loudly as some elected officials outlined their objections to those demonstrations language from national officials expressing those complaints was much more measured even from the most vocal opponents (I realize that rhetoric by elected officials closer to the events was often more vituperative). To somehow assert that what we are going through now somehow follows into the normal pattern of American political discourse is off the mark. I'm not saying you are doing that and I believe both sides seem to prefer to drive in the ditch as opposed to staying on the road, but what is coming out of the Presidency is markedly outside our tradition.

It is beyond obvious that what we are dealing with is someone completely unqualified who is causing incalculable harm to our civic fabric. Everything else is secondary. Trade policy. Taxes. All that should be set aside given the overriding fact that we have today a situation akin to having Caligula's horse in the Senate. I for one will set aside any differences I have over policy with my liberal (and socialist) friends because the priority has to be his removal from office.

Destroying our country and liberty by going all in on socialism is laughably more dangerous than the dumb orange man.

He'll be gone one day. Disastrous economic policies are forever

Not sure what you mean by destroying our country ?
And whose liberty ?

out of uniform ICE has been knocking on the doors of American citizens
we have for profit concentrations camps for asylum seekers and refugees
and cases of some with Social Security cards from birth

What agricultural products does China sell on the global market ?
do you farm ?
grow corn grain? soy? Fruits-nuts-vegetables?
Shop for groceries?
Are your kids being trained on what to do during a school shooting ?

Yeah, it is all about socialism

I'll take my chances on the ravages of socialism over another four years of a president who thinks its ok to denigrate and vilify people based on ancestry. My priority is to remove the xenophobe-in-chief from office. And there are other not so small considerations. Criminality. Corruption. Misogyny. To name just a few.

That's cool but socialism literally kills people

I remember when we all died when we left Paris accords, cut taxes, and repealed net neutrality. We barely survived Kavanaugh.

Socialism real world death count us more compelling than orange man's tweets
