If he such an imminent threat to our country, it is irresponsible of Nancy not to do whatever she can to remove him.

Justin is a good man. It is easy for Dems to criticize the Chosen One and was easy for the Repubs to impeach Clinton. The people with real courage in those situations are those able to transcend the partisan labels. Justin will always rate very high with me for that. Plus he seems to be a very decent human being.

Trumps whole shtick is Quid Quo Pro and it always has been. Its the reason he wanted to be Predident in the first place. To build his brand. He valued himself worth 3 billion dollars to his brand and that was before he was President. Now in a lot of cases good news for America is good for Trump politically so its not an issue. However in the case with Ukraine Trump asks solely for something that would benefit his campaign. The Pentagon told Congress Ukraine had already adequately addressed corruption before the aid was approved. That destroys the already terrible excuse that it's just a coincidence that concerns about corruption can only be solved by publicly opening an investigation. If this was seriously about corruption and not harming Joe Biden politically Trump would have asked for a private investigation. Beyond that the excuse that he made a mistake is "trumped" by the fact that he continues to Ukraine to do his politically dirty work when QQP isnt even required for this to be a crime. Does he literally have to shoot someone in times square on national TV for some of you people. It's coming to an end and you can bluff all you want. Even if he manages to hang on and limp into the 2020 election he will be so weighed down by corruption scandals he will lose badly. I think the odds he will pull shenanigans when he loses is skyrocketing and I think his base is going to support him doing it. Thethe included.

Trump's danger is mostly contained, except for his mouth. But the whole world knows by now that he's an unreliable fool who lies non-stop. I think his so called presidential powers are greatly reduced because the competent govt officials around him know he's not to be trusted and the ones who have stuck by him are very few.
That "putting party over country" line makes my head spin, as that's all the GOP has done for the last few decades. Pelosi did not and does not want impeachment, as her actions and words have clearly shown.

Pelosi had a realistic assessment of the politics of impeachment. But that has changed with the revelations of the past few weeks. Not dramatically but enough to make impeachment a worthwhile endeavor.

I'm somewhat repeating myself, since I obliquely referred to this once before, but it's well worth remembering we have these texts because of Rudy. Some tried to scapegoat Rudy, so Rudy went on TV and showed texts from Volker to defend himself. Volker resigned, went before Congress, and supplied a bunch more texts.
