Trump is consistently right about one thing: it is the greatest witch hunt in history. It is, after all, the first witch hunt in history to find dozens and dozens of actual, inarguable witches.

His lies don't help his case. He knew he had overstepped on the phone call way back in July when his lawyers went into a panic after the call and tried to hide it on the Hillary server.

His campaign manager is a felon. His deputy campaign manager is a felon.

His NSA is a felon. His foreign policy advisor is a felon.

His longtime personal lawyer is a felon.

But the defense is he cares about corruption?

and that is just the history!! We have to wait to see who/what else
 
The funniest thing about him repeating “corruption” like AI talking about practice was that a journalist asked him if his administration had initiated any corruption investigations not involving political opponents and he was, like, “we’ll get back to you on that.”

How are you defining corruption? Making big money deals while you're in office would be a start, but there's a gray area there and it would be naive to expect politicians in a capitalist country to stop being capitalists just because they have a govt job.

The rules should be strict, and probably are, when policy and personal interests are entwined. This is where Trump's actions are to my mind so troublesome.
 
And this Ukraine buisness supposedly began to try and find a basis for pardoning Manafort.....for corruption. There is none defense of the actions in a legal setting. All they can do is what they are doing, bluffing and filibustering.

I think this is an good summary of what we learned the last few days. Its downright comical how red handed they got caught. The whistleblower probably didnt even know about these texts so I guess its just a coincidence its brought up in the texts that this is exactly quid quo pro to get a political hit job on Biden. They already boxed themselves in by admitting Quid Quo Pro is a big crime when they thought there wasnt any direct QQP in the phone call transcript.All they have left is to try a disinformation campaign and hope they can stop this before it gets to a trial where this **** gets sorted out and they will have to put up or shut up about their lies. Spoiler warning, Trump will spend the whole trial claiming the Chief Justice is biased against him if it gets to that point.

In both instances, much of the coverage of the scandal was kicked off by Peter Schweizer, a longtime conservative political writer who is an editor-at-large at Breitbart News and the president of the Government Accountability Institute. Since its founding, in 2012, the group has largely been funded with millions of dollars in tax-exempt donations from the family foundation of the New York hedge-fund magnate Robert Mercer, who was a major donor to Trump’s 2016 campaign. In the organization’s most recently available I.R.S. tax filings, for 2017, Mercer’s daughter Rebekah is listed as the board chairman.

I simply find him less dangerous for our long term outlook than your girl.

Pretty sure we can summarize this episode fairly easily.

Very questionable judgement from the orange man... we all know he is a dummy. Not anything there to successfully impeach

Biden is done - the dems won't want his baggage from this and the media has paved the way for their darling - the lady who lied about her heritage to get ahead in life.

The media and dems will endlessly discuss Trump and Ukraine heading into election. It will be Russia 2.0... we should go ahead and get a head start on the thread.

The media/dems get a 2 for 1 with this story
