Impeachment

So we also have a claim from chosen one that Yovanovitch refused to hang his picture at the embassy in Kyiv. Of course it's not true.

So what should we call this:

1) Confirmation bias
2) Sincerely but erroneously held belief
3) Lie
4) Cooly crafted smear of another human being
5) The truth
6) Other
7) All of the above

Who knows. There are plenty of things Trump is crazy enough to believe because of a mixture of confirmation bias, age, being surrounded by yes men his entire life, etc. Of course, I've also witnessed ruthless businessmen intentionally murder truth for their own ends.

I have no idea what the truth of that particular issue is. I don't care all that much either.

LOL, more conspiracy. Nevermind the fact that the other campaign aids are on record stating they clearly planned their campaign around the Russian hacks. But sure, Obama plant. Let's just ignore all the other ACTUAL evidence in favor of conspiracy theories that have zero basis other than "that's the word."

Sure...zero evidence other than the origins of misfud and stefan halper. Just because you dont care enough to research doesn't mean the evidence isnt out there.

And for clarity...russian hacks weren't proven. Despite that glaring omission, was the trump campaign supposed to ignore the damning Wikileaks releases? What world do you live in?

thethe's beliefs are proof of some deep law about chaos and the lack of order in the universe

may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him

Remember a time when trump being spied on was a conspiracy.

Also a time when pedophile rings were a conspiracy.

Or that there were biased fbi agents in Mueller team.

All paranoia but when you dont have to acknowledge these then you can continue to shout conspiracy

its not just chosen one...we have an epidemic of confirmation bias

You seem to think Confirmation Bias is an excuse. It's not. It's just the explanation as to why someone might believe anything that supports what they already believe or that is beneficial to them. The larger your ego, the more of a problem this is.

Someone falling prey to confirmation bias isn't lying, they're just stupid.

I ended up watching way more of these hearings than I really should have out of professional curiosity.

The biggest takeaway for me was the intelligence and competence and genuine sense of duty from the career government officials. That was really impressive and instructive.

the next biggest takeaway was the sheer chasm of competence between the Democrats and the Republicans on the committee.

And then between their respective counsels.

I sympathize with the idea that lawyers do not make the facts and there is only so much you can do with the hand you are dealt, but the Republican approach was simply incoherent. Making stupid points is sometimes worse than not making points at all.

I will say of all the testimony that Fiona Hill's was my very favorite. She's the best witness I think I've ever seen. Not saying she was the most devastating to Trump, just that she was amazing. I agreed with the Republicans decision to stop asking her questions. I literally laughed out loud at the look of horror on the one Representatives face when she asked to respond to his long statement ... but, but I didn't ask a question.

I sympathize with that as I have certainly been in the position where I wished that I hadn't asked a question and had to take my medicine. I think I'd probably have asked her the 5 or 6 safest questions I could think of and sit down.

I dont know Sen Blackburn, so I cant say if she is stupid or lying...but I do have a prior

I think you are confusing confirmation bias with self-advocacy.

I'm not sure to what extent a personality disorder can remove things from the realm of lying. Thats pretty philosophical.

I operate under the assumption that any politician in consideration is doing/being one of these.

I do not defend everything the Dems do or say, but I don't know how these coward republican politicians can continuously drive these false narratives and carry the chains for Trump's propaganda.

Does staying in office mean that much to them to compromise good faith honesty and integrity for the sake of truth?

It's a god damn shame.

I'd like to think the retirements in the Republican party suggest that there were lots of Republicans to whom compromising their integrity was not worth staying in office, but I just don't know.

For the one's with careers in front of them, it is not an easy choice. Look at Amash. He was stripped of committee assignments and concluded he had to leave the party. It DOES take a certain amount of courage.

Donna Brazille had reason to believe the seth rich conspiracy

Soros involvement in world events has a paper trail but again you just ignore everything that's in front of you that doesn't jive with your hatred of trump.

I have no clue of the origins of pizza gate but pedophilia is a real problem and Epstein was a big part of that so let's not pretend this isn't an actual issue.

At that point, I don't want to hear about their love for country or their duty to the Republic or hear them yammering about unconstitutional this or that.

You retire to save face, rather than go out swinging to defend the Republic's integrity and institutions.

A crying shame. I understand politiicians have to appease to their base at home to get re-elected and play that game, but Lindsey Graham's complete 180 and tripling and doubling down on it, there's no honor in it. I know politicians change their minds and opinions based on public opinion, but if people see just how far the current GOP leadership is going to appease the indefensible of Trump's propaganda... they're basically condoning it because they aren't speaking up and letting their constituents know this is not ok. The ones retiring are walking away from the fight they should be fighting. Cowards. Then again, it's not like Trumpism was born in 2016. The GOP was breeding Trumpropaganda for years. It really started elevating when Obama got elected and the Tea Party emerged. Trump just put all those Tea Party prejudices and put them on steroids with the birtherism and such.

Patriotism is becoming socialist I guess?

If the GOP doesn't unite under this administration then the dive into socialism will be extreme.

I await evidence for a single one of your assertions.
