Allow me to play devils advocate for a second here. Shouldn't little thethe be all kinds of mad that IMPOTUS wont let any witnesses testify that could/would fully exonerate him? What innocent person tries to block witnesses who would give exculpatory testimony? IF IMPOTUS really was innocent of the Russia stuff and this it has to be an example of the worst lawyering to ever lawyer. Both investigations could have been cleared up in weeks.

Roberts will have the final say. Executive Privilege won't work here at this point since the leader of the executive branch is on trial. Americans should be pleased that at least 1.5 branches of government in this instance are working like the Founders intended.

I believe Robert's will make the usual rulings on witnesses, evidence, etc that a presiding judge usually makes. However, a majority of senators can overrule him.

In addition to Senators Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Susan Collins of Maine, Mitt Romney of Utah and possibly Cory Gardner of Colorado, the White House also views Rand Paul of Kentucky as a "wild card" and Senator Lamar Alexander of Tennessee as an "institutionalist" who might vote to call witnesses, as one official put it.

Last week, Collins said she was working with a "fairly small group" of GOP senators to allow new testimony, adding that her colleagues "should be completely open to calling witnesses." Romney has expressed an interest in hearing from former national security adviser John Bolton, who has said he would testify under subpoena. Murkowski said last week that the Senate should proceed as it did during the 1999 Clinton impeachment trial.

Let's recap. IMPOTUS obstructs the Mueller investigation in about 10 ways..... then after claiming he is exonerated of the crime he exhorts Ukraine to create fake news he can use defend himself from the Russia accusations and smear his political opponet..... then after being impeached for it he pushes us to the brink of war with Iran just to curry favor with jurors who. Its like crimeception at this point.

Are we going to discover that Trump/Rudy/Parnas were plotting to have Ambassador Yovanovitch killed? Would even that still not be enough for the Red Hats?

“Wow. Can’t believe Trumo [sic] hasn’t fired this bitch. I’ll get right in that,” Hyde, the Republican congressional candidate, wrote to Parnas before sending him several updates about her whereabouts.

“They are willing to help if we/you would like a price,” Hyde said in a separate text message. “Guess you can do anything in the Ukraine with money… what I was told.”

Yes, he should absolutely testify, but he sounds like another scummy Republican who would have no trouble lying under oath.

Looks like Lutsenko offered a quid pro quo. Documents relating to Biden in exchange for removal of Ambassador Yovanovitch.

Rudy is the dumb Tom Hagen. He was dealing directly with these guys. Parnas must have thought he was Tessio.
 
House impeachment investigators released a new set of evidence late Tuesday night that were obtained from Lev Parnas, an indicted former associate of President Donald Trump’s personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani — including voicemails, photos, and text messages between Parnas and high-level figures within Trump’s orbit.

The evidence includes voice mail messages Parnas received form Giuliani and Victoria Toensing, a prominent Trump-aligned lawyer, both of whom have been identified as players in an effort to force the removal of the U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, Marie Yovanovitch last spring.

“Hey Lev. VT here. We’ve got a request to talk to the big one,” Toensing said in the April 23, 2019, voicemail message. “So I just wanted to get the latest from you, if I could. I know it’s late there. I’m sorry.”
