116th Congress

Fresh Air interview with Jane Mayer.
On her New Yorker article about McConnell.

Learned some things about Biden/China. McConnell/ China.

His wife's family financial ties to Chinese military.

Very much worth 20 minute listen.
What else you got to do ?

As NYC is looking at a massive economic crisis and shortfall in revenues, I wonder if they'd like to revisit their decision to kick Amazon out of the city?

Rand Paul: "In rural states we never really reached any sort of pandemic levels in Kentucky and other states ... outside of New England, we've had a relatively benign course for this virus nationwide." (More than 81,000 Americans are dead.)

Warren County, Kentucky – where Rand Paul lives

– has more COVID-19 cases per capita than 51 of the 67

counties in New England states.

Senator Paul is wrong and the ignorant message he is peddling

is dangerous. There is no special immunity to this virus based

on where you live.

By night, one-man rLOVEution Rand Paul is a libertarian hero. By day, he has a job as an ophthalmologist, a kind of eye doctor that heals people who can't see liberty. Except the American Board of Ophthalmology, the board that certifies ophthalmologists, says he isn't one.
Rand Paul, however, likes to tell people he is "board-certified." Though he isn't board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, he is certified by the National Board of Ophthalmology. That latter "group" though is an organization led by Rand Paul. More accurately, the National Board of Ophthalmology is Rand Paul. You have to give it to him, the guy is good at naming his groups things that sound real.

Rand Paul's board has recognized a whopping seven doctors to do ophthalmology versus the 16,000 the American Board has. He's probably lost some business at his eye-poking practice because The Market has provided us insurance companies that prefer not to give their money to random men by the side of dirt roads in Kentucky who say they do eye surg'ry good.

But are we right to assume the American Board is a better board simply because it's recognized 2,286 times more doctors? Perhaps those 16,000 doctors went to Rand Paul for certification first but were denied because he's really strict about who gets certified. That's probably it. Rand Paul's list of criteria probably looks like this:

1. Has to be Rand Paul or be friends with Rand Paul.

2. Rand Paul has no friends besides his dad, so we'll define "friends" here as "people who are not statists."

3. Has to yell something incomprehensible about criteria taking away his or her God-given ophthalmology freedom and kick Rand Paul's clipboard out of his hands.

Did you meet those requirements? Congratulations, you're an ophthalmologist!

You can be sure this was cleared by the White House counsel if

not Trump himself. Also AG Bill Barr. But why not Senator Kelly Loeffler,

who also sold stocks?

Because Burr is not a Trump toady,

this looks like a vendetta!

ah ...

To Be Clear: The reason why Barr is going after Richard Burr is because
Chairman Burr's Senate Intelligence Committee's final report on Russian
help for Trump in 2016 election is due out within 2 months.

Trump and Barr want to discredit and remove Burr.

AOC probably has a future as a talk show host, where she could make good money. But she is never going to amount to much in Congress. I'm guessing her own party will redistrict her out of her seat by 2022.

She has a good future wherever it is but you are right it wont be as an elected official. She is smart in her own way and dumb as a brick in others, otherwise know as Ben Carson disease.

Not sure I buy that but it is within character for the OG AG and IMPOTUS.

Not sure I buy that but it is within character for the OG AG and IMPOTUS.

Late last night, Trump fired another Inspector General. Steve Linick was investigating Mike Pompeo for political retaliation within the State Department, and exposed Rudy Giuliano’s meddling attempt during impeachment

Well I would certainly claim that if I was his lawyer and request all communications by the President and AG that mention him. There is zero chance they hand that over which should cause a dismissal because the Prosecution cant or wont give him possibly exculpatory information. My bet is the judge would just deny him outright which I think is a good case for jury nullification.

The administration has to give 30 day notice to Congress before firing this (or any ?) IG
This was either an illegal firing or that 30 day notice

Lets see what Congress says/does

McConnell just confirmed a new Director of National Intelligence who

has NO experience in intelligence and very little background at all in

national security. Terrible, yet predictable.
