Neverending **** the Police thread.

Every officer doing this should be put into jail for assault, battery and violating civil rights.

Again, here's what i want to know, Camden NJ, a city with the highest violent crime rate in America, is not having deaths. But their police chief, and US Rep marched with the protesters. They didn't practice tactics like say the DC police are who attempted to trap citizens.

Camden's police chief is a special guy. He's someone who is committed to a better kind of policing.

This twitter thread should make everyone mad, but I'm sure the anti-tyranny gang will be defending the cops.

You do know that libertarians have been sounding the alarm on police overreach for decades right?

For some reason nobody wants to bet me on who will vote down the libertarian congressman's bill he is introducing this week.

Wonder why that is

I'm pretty sure not wanting to get on the wrong side of police unions is a bipartisan thing. Amash would be smart to find a couple co-sponsors. His bill won't pass anytime soon but it would be useful to lay down a marker.

Oh. So the dem controlled house isn't actually interested in change.

What do you think they would pass then that would move a needle?

Hard to say. Aides to Ilhan Omar have said she would support Amash's bill. I think it should be brought to a vote. It will be an uncomfortable vote for people on both sides of the aisle, but it should be allowed to proceed to the floor.

I'm not betting you because it won't be one or the other side opposing it but both because neither party wants to have the police campaigning against them. Their unions are powerful and can sway tight elections.

He would probably need all of the republicans or democrats on his side to pass, and that won't happen. So why bother blaming one side or the other? When both are an issue.

And this is not about Libertarians and sounding the alarm. This is about Police being caught on camera actually violating the constitution.

If you are not interested in punishing cops for bad behavior by firing them, you are not interested in change.

Anything else is virtue signaling.

Let's see if the dems put their money where their mouth is. I hope they will. I know they wont.

In the unlikely event it is brought to the floor, I think the only ones supporting it would be people like Omar, Tlaib and AOC. I think it would get very few votes, but more Democratic votes than GOP votes. But it is an idea worth building support for. It will take some persistence.

Fine. Let's make a cool hashtag, support looters, and carry on with no actual change.

And always, blame the orange man

I mean after all there is a passage inside the good book in which Jesus says

Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices-mint, dill and cumin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law-justice, mercy and faithfulness.

Matthew 23:23

And there is Matthew 23:1-5

Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: "The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat. So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. They tie up heavy, cumbersome loads and put them on other people's shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them. Everything they do is done for people to see."
