RG3 locks onto receivers as well, remind me when I said he hasn't? Breaking down his terrible game vs. Denver doesn't mean anything.

Vick is a career 56% passer with 7.09 ypa. 128 td/85 int.

RG3 is a career 63% passer with 7.5 ypa. 36 td/17 int.

RG3's 2013 down season is better than Vicks career and better than almost all of his individual seasons. This despite playing on a surgically repaired ACL.

Zito, you have your own issues. The Falcons signed Matt Ryan to a 100 million dollar deal and you see what happens when he doesnt have Julio Jones to throw the ball to. LOL. Ryan got outplayed by a backup QB making his 2nd career start. The LULZ!

RG3 plays in a much more passer friendly NFL. Being better at passing than Vick was in Atlanta isn't much of an accomplishment. Lets compare that though to Vick's time in Philly which is a more comparable era. RG3 does have a better comp% in that same (63 vs 60) worst Y/A (7.5 vs 7.7) and they're more or less a push for INT ratios.

Also Ryan has only 5 games with Julio this year and still is top 10 in the NFL in DYAR. He's currently 4th not before this week of course, even with a collapse through the end of the season he'll still be top 10.

Ok, compare Vicks best years to the rookie and 2nd year numbers of someone else. Lulx.

Let's compares to Ryans first 2 years.....ugghhhhh.....nevermind... ugly.

Having the worst special teams in NFL history (no exaggeration) and the worst defense in the NFL sure contributed, no?

RG3 is ranked:

32nd in TQBR

25th in QBR

15th in passing yards

22nd in completetion %

15th in yards per game

26th in Y/A

22nd in TDs

10th most INTs

You cannot compare the current super friendly to passer environments to the pass. RG3 doesn't have to worry about half the **** that other guys had to worry about in the pocket.

Also lets compare RG3's first 2 seasons to Ryan's.

RG3 has a 671 DYAR, Ryan had 1,714.

When you adjust to competition, league average, etc. Ryan comes out way ahead.

Infact, Ryan's worst season was a 702 DYAR.

More fun facts, this year not included, Ryan has only had that one season below 1,000 DYAR. I won't say whether he winds up over of above 1,000 he was at 970 but I'm guessing he had a negative week this week.

The main thing that sticks out for me from the Niners game was Crabtree's penalty for throwing the ball back to the line of scrimmage in frustration. He threw it ~40 yards and articles now are writing about how he was a QB in high school; which, I did not know about him. If he has that sort of arm, you have to think there are (or should be/going to be) so trick plays which utilize Crabtree throwing the ball.

I am sure most, if not all teams, have plays like that in the playbook, but, it certainly would be interesting to see a Crabtree to Kap connection on a trick play, double reverse type of play, instead of the usual Kap to Crabtree.

Pistol isn't the gimmick, it's the read option that's the gimmick. The Pistol is OK, especially for guys who can't read defenses super well or guys who are shorter so theri under center skills and reads are trickier.

I tried to explain to Brule what the pistol is, but he couldn't understand it.

Exactly, RG3 ran the pistol with the read-option....Peyton isn't running the read-option off of it. Good try, though.

Pistol v Pistol read-option is 2 different things.

Also using it 3 times a game is different than 15 times.

So what coaches do you think get canned or quit?

I think that Rexy is in trouble. Garrett may be in trouble but Jones seems to love him. I think COughlin retires. Adn then the usual. Of the bad teams with safe coaches, my bet would be on Smith, Schiano, Tomlin as the safest.
