Mail-In Voting

I have concerns. That's why I would like to see in-person voting be expanded over a period of weeks. Maybe designate certain days or hours for older people and people with health issues.

All for expanded in person voting and layer on government issued voter ID.

Admitting they cant win an honest election.

Let me fix that, can't win when people vote

Removing mail boxes from (D) voting precincts in red states.

I'm sure this is absolutely a one-sided bias take, but I certainly wish they would just fund the USPS, so I wouldn't have to listen to people wax poetically about an organization that's only slightly better than the DMV.

or wax "poetically" over one polling station to serve over 100,000 people.

They cant win if people vote.

DMV seems to function --- do you have or can show a better system ?

"seems to function" is about all I can say about the DMV.

I'm perfectly okay with the outcry to prop up USPS in the short term since there's probably not a better solution. I am just as concerned as you are with either the optics or this administrations specific intentions with not bailing out USPS.

I just don't need the over-the-top virtue signaling that goes along with it.

I had an amazing experience with the NJ DMV around 2003. They refused to renew my license on the grounds that I could not prove I was the person that my expiring license (itself a NJ license) said I was. I remember looking at the clerk and asking her if she knew what the word kafkaesque meant. And proceeded to explain Kafka to her.

I think there are better solutions out there. Like policing in the wake of the summer riots we are hearing and seeing all sorts of alternative policing methods
would assume people that spend more time on the subject than you or I could point to a better mouse trap.
Like I said earlier, Al Gore had recommendations in the 1990's that got buried in the political muck.
This is not new

Unlike a postal system, have never seen or heard of an alternative to DMV as we know it

side note, podcast 99% Invisible had an interesting show on policing and the history of policing in the US

DMV could be helped a lot if we based Drivers License on a person's ability to drive and not condition it on factors not related to being a competent driver.

this just ignores why war is being waged on the USPS.
people voting in a free and fair election will be a death knell for trump, and he knows it. he has to stop it in any way he can, and this is one of his avenues. you have to be willfully ignorant/obtuse to not see why suddenly the USPS is trump's biggest enemy.
i've never had a single issue with USPS. it's not amazing, it's not bad, it does it's job.

Universal mail in voting is free and fair?

Guess you don't pay attention.

Doesn’t matter. That’s a business address. Kinda humorous you’re on your high horse of voter fraud when your guy is committing fraud right out in the open. You’re beyond pathetic.

you're truly wasting your time. his head is so far up sniffing trump's ass, it's legitimately gross.

I’ve had more **** lost from the “free market” ups and fedex than the mail has ever lost

I really don’t get the bs reputation people give the post office

Currently dealing with a pickle of needing to renew my driver’s license here in California, but I have a change of address which requires a field office visit, but they are not accepting field visits currently. As of last month my DL expired and I have no viable option to renew.

For all those reasons, it’s concerning as I stated in a separate post. Recommend to read through the rest of the thread before firing the cannonballs of “willfully ignorant”.

I am just commenting on the general reimagining of its reputation.

All postings on collection boxes will be removed, as we will no longer be pulling any boxes.”

meaning

They put up a posting to inform citizens of their intent

to remove a box. They’re stopping that process,

and stopping removal.
