one game IS just symbolic...it's all symbolic at this point...but the NBA players are right to want something bigger

in the long run, it is more of a slow slog...changing policy...changing policing...changing how we see each other

its not passive aggressive. I posted in detail the legislation that was written in response to George Floyd. You either didn't read it then or just ignored like you usually do. I don't feel the need to write about it again. "You can look it up" I think is a term you're fond of

I predicted the house would not pass it.

Turns out, they didn't even vote on it.

When anyone starts giving up game checks, I think thats a meaningful statement. We will see if anyone does

It is strange to me how active NBA is with US issues, but completely silent on China issues. I'm not sure I understand that.

maybe cuz they care more about their own country...its not chinese cops doing stuff to black people...but i'm sure the uighurs and the people of hong kong and tibet (a formerly independent country under chinese occupation) appreciate your compassion for them

But the NBA does a lot of business in China, and even runs camps out there.

When a player spoke out about it, LeBron and co condemned that player for being ignorant.

Doesn't seem hard to me for LeBron to use his platform to condemn concentration camps.

Maybe I'm missing something though

This is some incredible caution and nuance from Lebron

On Tuesday evening, James said it was his belief that Morey was “either misinformed or not really educated on the situation” with the NBA and China and insisted that the Rockets general manager hadn’t properly considered the repercussions of his words. "So many people could have been harmed, not only financially but physically, emotionally, spiritually." he said.

let me help you...it is possible James is right about one thing and wrong about another...it is possible James is not a perfect human being...that he might even be hypocritical...hope that helps

Indeed. I believe James is right to be concerned with human right violations.

But its really really weird how inconsistently he applies it

It seems condening concentration camps is an easy one. But that might hurt James wallet.

Makes me have to wonder what his motives are
