Very valid point. This deadline could very well be a Liberty deadline and not on AA.
 
AA balls are Shriveled Raisins. Just keeps all our prospects so we can continue to watch them come up and fail.
**** proven quality big leaguers.

Preller has done a good job building that team imo.

It seems to me he was borderline reckless in Toronto, and now he's afraid to pull the trigger on anything.

Prospects are prospects. Currency. Most of them become Wright, Toussaint and Wilson, not Soroka.

Well, he's got the rest of the day to work on Lance Lynn. Hopefully he brings something home other than a steaming pile of dog****.

Soroka, Fried, and Folty are by themselves a pretty good haul.
 
I think everyone is just bummed and shocked at that quantity over quality package. Me included. I doubt we could match what Cleveland wanted because all of our close to major league ready guys either **** the bed or are needed.

I was just hoping to cash Waters in for a legit player. Dude is smoke and mirrors and needs to be traded.

This. I don’t see us adding much payroll when Liberty is in debt with the stadium and battery, and are actively trying to sell some of it off. It may be a quiet offseason as well.

I hope this is the real issue why we didn't land Clevenger. I agree that we should't empty the farm for rentals during this weird year, but he was controlled for 2 more seasons after this one. That's the sort of deal that you can take advantage of during a year like this. Helps you now and in the future.

That may be the only prospect of meaning Preller has sent out in his tenure. He definitely lost that one, but on balance he's done very well. I like all his moves this deadline, he's done a good job making the Pads better. I have a knowledgable buddy who's a season ticket holder in SD who says they have plenty left in the system, but even if they didn't, they don't fly flags for best farm system.
 
2020 is a dumb season and the Braves are unlikely to miss the playoffs or win a world series in an expanded playoff regardless of what they do.

I do not really understand the financial limitations and incentives that apply to this season, but my guess has been the Braves won't do much.

I recant my statement for the most part. I do like how preller went all in on the rebuild and loaded up on prospects. He got great value from the international market as well as trades and drafting. That team is pretty damn good and has a good farm to boot. He has done a good job.

Exactly. I would have cut deep for this one. We need starting pitching in the worst way and here was the guy who profiled best no matter which prism you looked through.

It almost looks like Preller kept adding players until the Indians said ok.

He traded Fried, Grandal, and Trea Turner in like a 48 hour period.
