2020 Trade Deadline Thread

Looks like they went after a lot of major league ready talent, like Enscheff said.

If Wright doesn't **** the bed, you'd think he'd beat that package almost by himself.

Man, this is frustrating. Finally seemed like we'd make a move to improve our terrible rotation without having to gut the farm....

Instead we got Tommy Milone....

I'm pretty tired of AA.

Pretty emotional statement. I was going to say something similar, but last year he did fix the pen.

My guess is he is working on something else. But if Milone is it, you are correct, this will be a VERY underwhelming deadline

The Braves have failed miserably at developing pitching and are at the point where we need to buy/trade for a legit one.

Thanks Coppy

I'm waiting on the article telling us how well Hamels is coming along

I know you are joking.

I honestly wondering if it would be better for Hammels to be done for the year and then have the insurance money provide us with more wiggle room to add salary.

Could be a money issue. There was a report a few days ago saying we wouldn't be adding salary. Milones prorated 800K is a lot less than Clevingers prorated 4.1 million.

I'm willing to give AA a pass this year if he has an underwhelming deadline. We don't know what kind of financial restraints he's working under. Covid really hit the Braves finances hard. So hard they had to do some debt restructuring, IIRC.

I wouldn't be surprised if AA is working on a shoe string budget and so if we don't do a whole lot I wont hang too much on him.

We should try to get Joey Gallo and Lance Lynn! He can play DH this year and take over next year Ozuna spot. Lance Lynn stop the bleeding.

If we get Soroka, Fried and Anderson out of this group are we really worse than other teams? I think Soroka and Fried are top end guys. I hope Soroka comes back to where he was in the future.

I am surprised none of the other guys have shown to be able to hold down a fifth starter job. Boom or bust.

probably way more than that. but if you trade away Acuna or Albies, that is a big problem.

Absolutely the failure rate is much higher than that. I am just sick of GM’s who are scared to make a move. The Padres have a good team right now that has gotten better in the last 48 hours. They are making moves to help them now. They were the youngest team by average player age in the league.
