2020 Trade Deadline Thread

Well, at least the slugfests will be fun to watch. I can’t recall the last time we were known as the offensive minded team with questionable pitching.
 
Ok...all jokes aside. If we really didn’t make another trade I am absolutely shocked. I didn’t think we would take on much money, but thought we would pick up some cheap back of the rotation type guys to eat innings.

I can’t believe it. As good as our bullpen is...they will be worn out by the playoffs (even with a 60 game season).

I point to the 1995 flag every time I take my baby cousin to a Braves game. Tell him of the great memories. Of why we should have won more.

And we aren't even trying. Clevinger had 2 more years of control and we wouldn't trade some ****ing prospect.
 
May I please at least get a look at Weigel and everyone else that still has a pulse in the minor leagues? I don't expect them to be good, but can you at least make that plain to me, Anthopolous. Seems like the least you could rather than make me watch Erlin and Tomlin.

Clevinger, Marte, Robbie Ray (though they're certainly buying low on Ray), and Minor were the headliners. And honestly, Millone had been significantly better than both Ray and Minor prior to last night. Could make an argument we came away with the 2nd best pitcher.
 
Notice how exactly zero of the smart teams made meaningful transactions this deadline?

You don’t trade bullets to make a run in a season you are plane ride from having Acuna and Fried out for 3 weeks.

I wish we made a trade to pick up more Milone types (like Walker etc). But those type of guys don’t meaningfully move the needle.

I'm not sure that's an argument that is worth having.
