REAL FOOTBALL Thread

Jerry Jones said today the Cowboys won't use a high draft pick on a quarterback. Considering the holes on defense, I can understand that. However, Romo is no longer a young QB and this back issue is concerning. The Cowboys will have to address QB soon. I wouldn't do it in the first round. I want the Cowboys to draft the best available D-Lineman in the first.

So Ahmed Brooks won his appeal on that personal foul called on Drew Brees. An absolute joke that a blown call most likely caused the 49ers to not get homefield advantage in the NFC.

Refs constantly screw up. I agree that Brooks call was a season changer, but win our home games against Indy and Carolina and none of it matters.

No, the point is to make a legal hit. He hit him at the shoulder pad level which was legal. There is nothing wrong with what Brooks did.

Yeah, they would of had a shot at HFA had they won.

I dont think that was penalty bad.

Recovered the ball and at worst they flip field position if not eat the rest of the clock, guess we will never know.

Though winning in Arz wont be an easy task with how good they are playing right now.

Just b/c he won the appeal doesn't mean the hit wouldn't have still been called a foul by every single unbiased person who watched that play. He hit him high b/c he had a chance to lay into him and wanted to make a play. He clearly could have gone lower. He didn't and it drew the foul.

There were plenty of Bs calls that have gone in the Niners favor this yr, so don't act like that call drastically altered your yr.

The decision after the fact doesn't impact the on the field ruling. How many dozens of times a year does someone get fined and the refs don't flag it? You are smarter than this thethe

All I said was that it was a bad call (proven by the overturn of the fine) that cost teh 49ers the game which may end up costing them HFA. What did I say that I need to be smarter than?

When you said all the things you said. If Brooks aims just a little lower he doesn't get a foil. Both his shoulder and helmet were up around brees' helmet. Whether contact happens or not you aim lower.

Overturning the fine doesn't prove anything, other than they thought the hit didn't deserve a fine. It was borderline. Anyone unbiased can clearly see that. And that play gets flagged 9/10 times.

As I said, the niners got the better end of plenty of BS calls this yr. Quit acting like that one play drastically altered your season.
