GDT 10/18/2020 - Game 7 vs Dodgers

Our base running choked.
Ran ourselves into multiple outs and it cost us 2 plus runs the last two games.
Can’t win anything much less vs a talented team like the Dodgers.

Pure choking. Absolutely. From the top down. Snit was horrible tonight, and so was most of the rest of the team.

This was a great year. We came up short but this team grew so much and should come back even stronger next year. I definitely see some titles in our near future.

This series had more mistakes on the bases for us than I remember in the past 5 years combined. That is insane.

Of all the things that cost us the series, these three are the most glaring to me:

No show for RAJ
No show for TDA--catching seven straight couldn't have helped, in all fairness.
Stupidity on the base paths.

Choking away a 3-1 lead in games is nothing short of a knife to the gut.

Are you satisfied? At least you got to start another GDT that resulted in a loss.

Yep
I thought I’d never see another mistake that hurt like Lonnie’s in 91 but this series topped it.
It’s little things like this that cost teams when they run into a team with the same amount of talent

Agreed. Bad base running cost us the series. But going forward at least it’s something that can be easily corrected.

we were up 3-1. I’m sorry for being honest. That’s choking. I can be proud of the team and pissed they flushed the season away all at once. Leaving Ian in there one batter too long and the terrible base running blunders proved costly.

That is not choking. The team played well and the Dodgers are a juggernaut. If we have a normal BABIP the last two games we win the series. The base running blunder probably made no difference with the way Acuna has been hitting.

I am so sick of the Dodgers. They are a PoS organization that would be absolute **** if they didnt have a significant financial advantage. What MLB allowed them to do for years with buying every intentional free agent was horse****. Never would have been allowed if the Braves did it. I am tired of these teams like the Dodgers and Yankees getting favoritism. This isnt a level playing field and its that way on purpose. As far as I am concerned the Rays are the champs. I will never recognize anything the Dodgers accomplish after that BS trade years ago with the Red Sox. Stupid ****ing league doesnt have a salary cap for a GD reason. Because the big market teams are too incompetent to win on a level playing field.

We have probably 5 years left in our window before the horrifically bad drafting catches up to us. I only expect it to get worse as they draft more college players to make up for the currently failing college prospects.

Let's be honest. The braves squeezed as much as they could out of this team and just got overwhelmed by a better team. The no days off thing gave the Dodgers a huge advantage. It was a good year for a team that I didn't think would make it as far as they did. It's disappointing, but it's hard to grump about what this team accomplished.

I agree with this. It won't take much to get the Braves back next season, and take that next step

Guys... we lost to the best team in baseball and World Series champs... we had 0 pitching this season and all our young bucks put on for the squad. We had Ian Anderson start game 7 vs Dodgers. They were amazing. Kudos to all the youngins, this team will grow.

We lost our swag after the base running error. It was done after that. No momentum.

Live and learn we room it to them and a season that should have been awful turned into our best season in years.

Can't say I disagree but when you've just lost to one of the big money teams, I'm sorry but it just comes across as whining. We didn't do what we needed to do to which was win on the field.
