I said from the start that a landslide either way was preferable to a close election. This is almost my worst case scenario election. The only way it would have been worse would be if Republicans had done worse down ballot. Losing completely would have made more Republicans desperate.
 
I hope there are recounts in GA, PA, NV, AZ, MI, WI, and NC. Recounts are part of the process and extremely close races like these should be recounted to be sure. I don't think anyone should be against recounts.

My fear has been a blowout 1932 style as board lecturer promised us for a year.

I'm thrilled with the results as is. Now just want it to be over.

Unless the GOP can show legit evidence (and if they have it, I want them to fight), its time to move on

Amash has done a great job of highlighting how she and Cocaine Mitch have destoyed the legislature and amendment debate.

They make the decisions and then the party votes down line
 
Things could get ugly internally for the Democrats. The main way the moderates, establishment, and far left of the party have held together the last 4 years has been through a shared loathing of Trump. The down ballot defeats have also opened further cracks in the party. Biden is no Obama in terms of uniting the party.

It will be interesting to watch how the Republicans shake out too. Will there be a movement away from Trump? Will the message of populism stay?

Personally, I think the party that moves toward the middle will take a big advantage. I wonder if either will.
 
We can't rest easy just yet. Trump still has his head above water.

We just had record turnout with both parties going extreme. It will probably continue until that stops. Unfortunately.

I wonder how much of the turnout was to support a party's extremism and how much was to fight the opposing party's extremism.
