Even within group 1 (the mob) I think there is a distinction between people who clashed with police and other security and breached entrances, and those who just milled around after the police withdrew.
Both should be charged but I think the penalties will have to reflect their activities and roles. This is kinda common sense. But I guess it has to be said around here. I could even get on board with dropping charges for people who just went in for a look, or just giving them a slap on the wrist like community service.

I mean both instances were pretty bad, but if you can't see a clear distinction between the two events then you are blind. This was legit a dark historical event that our will be written about and taught in history books for generations.
It's like you're comparing some random murder in NY vs JFK getting assassinated. Both are tragic, but one of the events had considerably more historical affect on the world.
