Trump is like a mafia don and most of the GOP are his henchmen. They will kiss his ring every day until the day comes when they think his power has faded, then they'll stab him in the back and try to take over the party. Politics and crime syndicates share many attributes.

I might have missed it, but I don't believe tear gas was used against peaceful protestors yesterday. The tear gas was used against the people seizing the Capitol.

I assume the incident the VP elect is speaking of is when Trump had the police tear gas peaceful protestors so he could take a photo op in front of the church.

I don't know that I agree completely with her main point, because every circumstance is unique. But certainly if ever there was a time to use equal force, you'd think it would be when an angry mob is seizing the Capitol building.

I do think police are likely to be Trump supporters. It's also likely they were fully aware the these people were more likely to be caring a gun, so may be the decided force wasn't the best avenue to protect lives. It's also possible that they simply learned from mistakes of other cities.

You didn't say anything that was a fact you asshat.

First off, only 1 person was killed by capitol police. The other died of "medical emergencies" the one I could find in a quick search was a heart attack.

And there's a giant ****ing difference between people protesting, their first Amendment Right, and people engaging in insurrection against the Governmen.t

Take 5 seconds, do some reflection, and go **** yourself.

So how many people died by police in BLM riots last summer? Was it more than 0?

Our flag. Colin Kaepernick's career was ruined because of their love of our flag.

But, yesterday, the Confederate Flag was in the capitol. Another rioter took down our flag to replace it with a Trump flag.

And nothing.

It wasn't our flag they loved. It was white supremacy.
 
Why are so many people so quick to start comparing what happened yesterday to BLM? It's entirely possible to say that the rioting at the Capitol yesterday and the rioting by BLM last year are both wrong.

Also, it's irresponsible to throw out the conclusion that the response would have been different if the people breaking into the Capitol were BLM. We don't have a fraction of the facts on why the police responded how they did, why they were undermanned as they were, or what orders they were operating under.

What we should be doing is condemning what happened yesterday and taking steps to ensure it doesn't happen again. It's exactly what should have happened during the rioting last year.

There are a few posters on this board - including myself - who have condemned both. And condemned both at the time they happened.

The problem is the double standards some people and our media have depending on the cause they support.
