Georgia Senate Runoff

The thing about absentee ballots is that it’s an equalizer. Voting is a pain in some precincts while it’s easy in others. Really this is so the Republicans can make people in Atlanta wait in long lines to vote so rural hicks don’t lose their influence.

I don’t get the ballot harvesting argument either. People who want to vote should be able to vote easily. Why does it matter who encourages it.

It matters because of the importance of a secret ballot. Suppose I work for a group called Abrams Votes. It's my job to go into 25 apartment complexes in Atlanta and help them vote.

I get them their ballots sent to them and tell them to expect me on a certain date to fill out the ballot. I then help them fill it out and carry it to the ballot box. Sounds great, right?

But what I described relies on angels. If I can help you through the process I can help ensure you vote how I want. It becomes the basis for a political machine.

The more direct influence these organizations have on getting people to vote the more influence they have in how people vote.

“Can make”? Atlanta is dir hard blue.

You have 60 days to vote... no one has to wait in “long lines” if they don’t want to. And the long lines is just that... a line

The mail should have zilch to do with an election.

Those groups rarely actually assist people filling out their ballots. They’re more about reminding their political allies to vote. Heck they’re also talking about the buses and that is definitely secret when they go into vote. This is about suppressing certain types of voters. Everything else is an excuse to do it.

I personally fully support mail in ballots and I think the Biden administration should make funding dependent on not having barriers to voting. While there are valid arguments against it the only reason Republicans are against it is because it doesnt work to their advantage. Trump supported voting by email in the Reform Party primary in 2000.

I'm still waiting on packages I ordered on Dec 3rd... lost in the abyss of the USPS

yeah, it's too bad the guy you love that lead a rebellion to try to stop a constitutional procedure to steal an election ruined the post office the last couple months by trying to steal the election by slowing mail in voting

or as cajun said

you got what you voted for

oh yeah

you think nothing was done to the post office the past 2 months

Over the previous 8 years... the USPS lost $52.5B in net income.

Under the Trump admin, their average loss was 31% less than the Obama admin

Trump, Obama, Bush, it don't matter. It's a disaster. They are a huge drain on tax resources. They have the lowest reliability in delivery sucess and lowest NPS scores.

Let's not give another federal program more power, ok?

that's all well and good

none of that has anything to do with your hypothetical example of your lost package from Dec. 3rd

the USPS loses money because of all the unprofitable mail routes to small towns and rural areas in red states

but it seems to me unsporting to cut them off

i would link the Oliver breakdown video of the post office and how they are "losing" money for ya fraud boy

but i would guess you just wouldn't watch it like last time i posted it and you will just stick to your usual comments instead of learning

Agreed. Cut em off. A smart business will figure out to make a better service and a better CX

Did Congress mandate they prepay benefits years in advance in 2006? Because thats when the post office stated losing money hand over fist.
