If they sue her, doesn't that open the software to discovery? Isn't that exactly what Trump/Powell want... well, obviously without the threat of being bankrupted.

lol no, it's not what they want. because they're lying, and they know it.

Do you have a link to the NYT article about the stain on the Democratic party caused by all of the death, fire, and destruction of this Summer? My interneting skills are weak because I'm having a hard time finding it.

I do agree with you on the votes to disenfranchise entire states. It was wrong when the other guys did it, it's wrong today, and it will be wrong the next time, when the other guys do it effectively and have people refer to this as an excuse.

i missed where dem politicians, especially the top leadership, incited violence and takeover of the Capitol over a complete fabrication.
the fact you think these things are similar...fox news brain rot.

I bet you did. And I haven't seen pictures of acres of burned cityscape from this week either.

And I don't watch Fox. I don't pay for cable. Too much of the subscription fee would go to funding propaganda for a dangerous ideology.

I take this is they have obviously nothing to hide and want people to pay. I don't blame them.

How does this work if she brings in other sources as evidence for her claims? Like that security company audit that supposedly showed a 63% error rate, can she reasonably point to that and sort of pass the buck?

On the morning of Jan. 6, Ginni Thomas—wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas

—endorsed the protest demanding that Congress overturn the election, then sent her “LOVE”

to the demonstrators, who violently overtook the Capitol several hours later.

She has not posted since.

Who's brilliant idea was it to leave this lying around? I'll give you 1 guess.

I posted a meme in another thread (media) that had a nice compilation of dem politicians calling for uprisings

It wasn't a security company audit... it was an audit done by one guy who works in security who wouldn't share his data and was a known radical right wing activist.

Indeed.

Republicans Splinter Over Whether to Make a Full Break From Trump
Republicans face a disturbing prospect: that Wednesday’s Trump-inspired violence could linger for decades as a stain on the party.

Opinion
The Truth About Today’s Anarchists
“Insurrectionary anarchists” have been protesting for racial justice all summer. Some Black leaders wish they would go home.

Completely different framing. Quite interesting. The one negative in tone and reported as news, the other a hopeful and apologetic opinion piece.

I wasn't trying to call it legitimate, I told thethe it wasn't. I'm asking if she can expect that to bail her out.

Nah... unless they settle (and Dominion has said they have no interest in any settlement... who knows if that is actually true), then she is screwed.

The pot of gold for Dominion would be if they can tie the defamation to the PACs that have been fundraising off of all this. It seems to me they might be able to make the case that the funds raised are ill-gotten gains that came at the expense of Dominion. Those PACs have raised a lot of dough. I'm not a lawyer, but I think they should be pursuing that type of legal theory/strategy.

I think there might also be a RICO-type case here. A conspiracy that incidentally damaged Dominion. But it is really a conspiracy to raise money by swindling gullible people.

The lawyers are gonna be busy with this for a long time. There are both criminal and civil cases likely to come out of this.

If they do this, wouldn't the ones that get sued just find a way to replace dominion when they gain power again?

Asked if Republicans should cut ties with Mr. Trump, Representative Fred Upton of Michigan, a 34-year lawmaker, said, “After today I do.”

Upton has been a very good Congressman for a long time, but I have to laugh at this.

“Trump is a political David Koresh,” said Billy Piper, a former chief of staff to the Senate majority leader, Mitch McConnell.

yeah...there is a resemblance
